2003 rx1 against a 03 700 firecat

Mine's kind of the same way.. The motor has never been apart and everything is stock, including the Reed Valves. The only I've changed is the clutching and the gearing.

My Brother-in-law has a fairly stock F-7. He can just pass my '04 RX-1 on top end by about 1-2 mph. He also can beat me by at least one length on the 1000'. He has "tons" of studs. The F-7s are lighter, (so is he by ~35 lbs), the F7s have less wind resistance down at the track. I would bet the APEX fuelies could beat him, though.

I will add though he was clutched and has a very low windshield. I have a tall windshield, no clutch mods and doolies. I know that if I want to beat him, it would be back to a low windshield, single runners, a bit of clutch work to gain back the 10,600 Rs and about 4 months of weight watchers for me. When I put on 3/8" stainless steel rounds for wear rods, I can pick up at least 5 mph top end. Good for drags. Bad for trails. I'll bet the doolies add to that drag significantly on ice.

Sounds to me like you guys need the play with your sleds a little bit I dont have any problems with the F/7s or stock Apex's my RX runs real good for only minor mods,But then I'm always playing with differnt things to tweak them a little more.

P.S. oh yea I dont have the giggle gas hooked up right now.

:die ===================== :jump: --------------------- LaLaLa ................ ;)!

My buddy and I both have Rx's. His has a bender clutch in his 03 RX1 and an aftermarket can. I have yet to see him to lose to an F7. The clutch Kit rocks. He goes to polar blast in Eustis Maine every year and puts a wooping to the F7's, also he beat the modded ZR9 that won the radar run @ least 8 times in a row in head to head comp @ the pond after the radar runs are done. I have an 05 Warrior and heck I have yet t lose to an F7 in a head to head, but to Jason's RX1 he smokes me every time.

4 Strokes Rock!

Wow my 04 Warrior must be a real POS, I have yet to run an F-7 that didn't beat me every way to Friday. Are you guys sure they're not F-6's or 5's perhaps?

Are you sure you are running F-7's? I have seen F-8's and F-10's with F-7 Stickers and graphics.. That happens quite often around here and the guys running them will sware they are "Stock 700's" ..

I've heard that alot lately about the STOCK firecats.I hear alot on how fast they are and the 115 mph top speed.Most cat guys will say also how they have too work on them all the time.or should I say ex cat guys!!!

My 05 warrior is bone stock. The only thing done is 156 picks inside and out. I have to laugh every time I hear F7's are one of the fastests sleds out. Hook up is where it is at. The conditions last year were slower then the years prior (warm weather). These sleds were definately f7's. They were pissed that Both Jason and I handed it to them time and time again. They also had us lift the cowling to see if one of us was running turbo's. (NOT!!!!) Like I said I love to Ice drag and I do get beat especialy by Jason's RX1. Last year @ polar blast it was all about team blue in the grudge matches.
Jason on his 03 RX1, my buddy Chris on his 00 SRX and me on my Warrior. Chris and Jason are real close. If I hook up I am right w/ them. We drag all the time @ little Ossippee Lake in Waterboro and Jason made a lot of believers out of the 2 strokers. The race to the shanny was approx 200 yards and by the time Jason hit the shanny he was @ least 100 ft in front of the F7 that was there along w/800 poos and a rev 800HO. I am not floating my own boat I just see it when ever we race.

OOOPS That was last year Feb 1st to the 3rd. I haven't heard exactly when it will be this year. If you Go to mesnow. com and look up Arnold Trail Snowmobiling club you can get some info.

The guy works for me, it's an 06 F-7 bone stock studded
My warrior is stock 120 studs. that 7 and all the others I have run with have been rockets, don't get me wrong I would rather ride my sled all day but when you line them up stock all I see is tail lights.

Guys, this is just silly. Stock for Stock the F7 should and will most often smoke the '03 RX-1. It had more HP ('03 RX-1s were 135 ish on a good day stock and the F7 was a true 140) and it weighed OVER 100 pounds less. I know we all ride Yammies, but c'mon now let's be serious.

I know you guys have beat them and all that, but it should NEVER happen when both sleds are stock.
