hi, i am new to the forum, i am also new to four strokes, anyways i was looking into buying a 2004 rx1 warrior, mint condition , mainland kms, around 11000kms, is this a lot of mileage for a four stroke?, and what else is there look at when buying a used four stroke, i always owned 2 stroke sleds. any replys would be appreciated.

Make sure its not an oil burner! Many of the 03's and 04's had this problem! I know, I have an 04 Warrior that burns oil.
In 05 the problem went away!

if you are lookin at getting into the rx-1, the 2005 with the mono shock rear skid is very nice. i do believe that 2005 is the first year for this suspension. unless your gettin a wicked deal on the 2004 i'd hold out to see if you can find a deal on a 2005. the season is just about over.....

i own an 05 war and other than up-grades, the only thing that has worn out on mine is the front a-arm bushings. i only have 7000km (roughly) on mine and it is just starting to pull good.

go ahead and pull the trigger on that deal, you will not be disapointed.

do you just keep adding oil or did you fix the problem? can you put 05 solution in the 04?

Yes! I keep adding oil, in my case about 1 QT every 600 miles :o|

The solution is changing the piston rings, in 05 they used a new style of rings, its not worth it to me to tear the engine down, so my advice to you is: look for an 05!

Many have said to watch the front bushings, but I'd bet the rear skid bushings are shot too. Also check the wheels in the skid too. If ya can turn it over you may see things better. Look at the front w-arm as those were prone to crack on the pro-action skid. It is prob time to recharge those shocks too. I'd wait for a good Mono 05 or up. Night and day BETTER!!

thanks for all the info guys , checked compression on cylinders down 30 pounds on clutch side cylinder, jack shaft bearing was shot, front a arm on left side had play in it. guess deal was to good to be true.

thanks for help, going to look around for a 05 model , sounds like the bugs were worked out then.
thanks.

The front a-arms need the oilite bushings from ulmer. You will find alot of play even when new. The oilites really tighten it up.

05 warrior comes with pro action-mono was on RX1, 11km thats like what 6k miles??
you will need new bearing in gearcase & driveshaft, ---------$300 us
new bushing kit in suspension & fron A-arms ----------------$100
replace bearings in wheels in suspension, up to 10 or 12 ----$125
oil change----------------------------------------------------------$40

carbides,hyfax--maybe??

now go play for 5K miles, no engine maintance needed---PRICELESS

Just turned 14,000 miles on my 05 warrior-never touched the engine
