The trails always seem to be worse sunday and monday from the weekend.Unless you get snow over the weekend.

I agree until they groom after the weekend mess the trails suck! most clubs groom all week to prepare for the weekend, mid week is usually the best! no traffic and 3/4 of the trails are done

This is WHY. .. It' 4-stroke country up here...trust me....I've blown EVERY 2-stroke I have ever owned up here. Some places you could keep it wide open for miles if you wanted to.
PS....a high traffic day for us is when we see/pass more than 10 sleds. Keep in mind...our Speed Limit is 35MPH unless otherwise posted..... :ORC

In Eagle River, Hurley, and Minoqua they have been rough. Theresa and I have had good luck in Muni.

Heck this sounds fun.
I will give Muni a try w/ ya guys. Or Houghton??
I have always thought the trails to be there best on sundays to thursdays.

I am in for the 500 miler and the Muni ride at a minimum. I have always been looking for an excuse to do Canada as well. Wawa sounds like fun but the rubber band kinda scares me.

Well, now that you put it that way, I am in. anyone from Michigan want to save a little gas and "car-pool"
Let me get this out of the way now: happily married, 11 month old, trying for second, so no reading between the lines. Oh, I also have a tow vehicle 04 F-150 Supercrew.

that dec 16-18 houghton ride sounds fun-where do u guys stay? we've had really good luck with the parkview inn, just a few miles south of houghton-built last year and we stayed there...4 times i think. really great place-has pool and hot tub. also sauna-$80 for two double beds. also has a restaraunt attached, and a gas station two blocks away right on trail. very conveniant. oh hey NOS PRO i know some sweet playgrounds up there for ya-and anyone else. but most of them r south of houghton. not sure bout the other ones. that 500miler sounds interesting

There's three pages of fun reading there but what you really have to know is the 500 miler is the same time as the Munising ride. The Alger Falls requires a 3 night minimum so if you're going to do the 500 miler and the Muni TY ride you'll have to stay at an alternative motel, double book or work logistics that I haven't figured out yet.
In my limited experience with the 500 miler, there's always a lot of bold talking leading up to the event but not many riders due to this, that or some other equally valid reason (not excuse) once the time arrives.
I'm currently planning to do the 500 miler then move to the Best Western in Muni for the TY ride unless the dog eats my homework or something.

The 500 miler is just an event that you can say "I did it." Nothing special, just a ride, but not a race. Sledder Steve did it last season.
Your brother will be riding your old sled? Did you keep your Warrior?

Sadly, about half the miles on my sled were racked up during that 18 hour period. I really need to get my priorities right. :shock:impalapower said:The 500 miler is just an event that you can say "I did it." Nothing special, just a ride, but not a race. Sledder Steve did it last season.
