I have a 2005 Vector and this weekend had an intermittant electrical problem with one cylinder not firing. Changed the spark plug but did not seem to make a difference. Could this be a problem with the ignition coil assembly for the cylinder. Cylinder on the far right not firing.

First thing I'd do is swap coils around. Take the coil from the cylinder you suspect isn't firing and switch it out with a cylinder that is firing. If the problem moves then you know its a coil.

If you find it is a faulty coil I have a bunch available.

Wrap the coils with electrical tape. This will prevent them from cracking or failing.

#3 not firing

I have the same problem with #3 not firing occasionally. I swapped coils and replaced the plug. Problem still remains with #3. Pulled the carbs for the 3rd time & cleaned. Could not find an issue. Any ideas?

Found the problem -. resolved

The problem was flooding during rapid deacceleration. This was caused by the float being out of spec.and needed adjustment. Check the float heights - 16mm for mine with the carb inverted, main jet pointing to 2the o'clock. Works awesome now...too bad the snow melted Monday.
