2005 YAMAHA WAVERUNNER VX110 hours

I would guess a lot!

PWCToday.com is where all the goods are at. My name is the same over there except I'm on a Kawi STX-15F. Just like sleds, they're all pretty close and in general, BRP is ripped silly over there. Similar priced stuff is within 2-4MPH of each other.

Did you get one? PM me if you want.

I havent bought this yet, but thinking about it. It was a rental and has 340 hours on it. I have a 2002 SD GTX 4-Tec and have heard some of the rental companys are seeing 800 hours on this engine. If the vx110 was comparible i may purchase this for my daughter. By the way, a rental outfit in Nevada has posted over 500 hours on a couple of his.

It's all about price. I think that properly maintained, the engine should last no less than a thousand hours, preferably 2,000. But keep in mind that rentals are not as well cared for as a personal machine.

Let's say the rental company takes depreciation of $10 per hour off the price of the VX. 340 hours x $10/hour = $3400 off the best price you can buy a new one for. Frankly I find this the least I'd negotiate off the price. Find out what they rent one for per hour. $75? I'd like about $15/hour off the price.

Don't forget there are pump parts, etc. that have wear and tear on them. Take a GPS with you and in reasonably smooth conditions, the VX is good for 52-54MPH (mine supposedly is 61[according to magazines] but 58 is where the GPS regularly tops unless I've got a tail wind). This is easily after about 12-15seconds of WOT to get a reading. If it's quite a bit less, like 48 or less, could be an impeller or worse, a damaged pump or sleeve.

Also, some VXs don't have reverse which saves a couple of bucks, but reverse is really nice to slow you when docking.

i read the vx 110 is the best on gas in its class. really good waverunner from what i've heard. i have a 04' gp1300r, 65.4mph on gps w/2 people. just hope i never meet up with the new 250hp kawi, i'll probably be embarassed.
