Western NY ride
You can count me in for this ride. I would like to ride the Chautauqua lake area (It would be fun to make a few runs on the lake and tear up big country's warrior and my nephews Apex could not resist Timmy & Ryan HA HA) ) towards Letchworth. That would be lots of fun. I am sure I could get a few other riders to join in also. Count me in......

WNY Ride
I would be intersted in a WNY ride, would have to be on a weekend or when my school is on vacation.

A couple inches of the white gold is on the ground here now!! I know it wont stick around to long(supposed to get warmer again) but it feels like its X-mas.LOL 3-5 inches expected to fall. I may take a rip or two up the street.
Lets keep this thread going and make sure we get something planned for a WNY ride as well. Maybe we should tentivly(sp?) plan on something around the end of January. The lake should be frozen by then as well(that is if we decide to meet up in the Chautauqua Lake area).

How about this:
WNY Ride:
When:
Feb.17(sat--with option of Sunday as well)
*I figure Feb.17th should give the lake plenty of time to freeze and hopefully snow is not an issue.
Where:
Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua
Contact Information:
4459, Route 430
Bemus Point, NY 14712
Phone: (716) 386-2722
Rough Directions Below(mapquest address above)
On Rte. 430, off Rte. 17, west of Bemus Point
www.nysparks.state.ny.us
I have never cordinated/took part a "ride" before but I figure we could meet up at the State Park on Sat. Feb.17th sometime in the morning-mid morning, get situated/map-out/set-up and on our way. I live and ride in the area so I 'should' not get us lost.lol A couple of different options we could do is (1) do a large loop and return to the State Park before dark...set-up a picnic type setting at a pavilion, chill out for a bit, cook-out, get warm by a fire and after...those that want to stay we will round up a group for a second ride(night) and those that choose to depart can go on their way back home or to a local hotel. -OR- (2) Not return to the park late that afternoon but just continue riding and grab dinner at one of the stops/restaurants on the way. I figure those who choose to return Sunday for a second day could as well(I would be game for that as well).
Like I mentioned above...I have 'not' put one of these type events together before so if you guys have any advice or input on the matter/event...please feel free to suggest. This event will allow many of us to meet/ride with some great people and have a great time in the process. I hope some Apex guros(sp?) plan on showing so I might be able to learn a thing or two new about my Apex. All are welcomed to attend. Depending on the size of the group and trail conditions will decide on how fast/slow the ride will be. Long Point State Park sits right on Chautauqua Lake(17 mile lake) so even if the trails are not that great we can still get some lake blasts in.lol
If you may need any contact info(hotels--there are a couple of hotels right on the 86 expressway in the nearest city of Jamestown NY which is 10 min from the State Park, dealerships etc.) please let me know and I will get that info for you.

I'm from Bemus as well, I'll help you organize this if you like. I'm not sure if the date works at this point. Probably run into you at Toms. I have a 05 Candy red Rx1, 03 Silver Rx1, and some Vmax sleds.

Thanks RedRX1 for the offer to help. We certainly stop at Tom's enough that we may have met before. Well...I set the date and place...so I guess at this point...just sit back and wait to see what kind of response this gets.

Keeping this thread fresh...looking for responses on if you will be attending or not. I know its a crap shoot because of snow(if we have enough snow on Feb.17th--hopefully we will). I think I will update this post in mid to late January and make some kind of sign up sheet/list to give us some sort of a headcount.
