2006 Apex XTX +

I used a take off Nytro XTX skid. I'm pretty sure that either an Apex XTX or Nytro XTX skid will work the same, just different torsion springs and shocks.

It's been a few years since I did the skid swap. I know for sure that I had to change the rear arm mounting brackets to the XTX style brackets, and I'm pretty sure that I was able to use the stock mono skid front mounting plates but had to relocate them.
Overall it wasn't too difficult of a job. I really like the longer XTX skid in the Apex chassis.

I like the looks of you sled with the 144 xtx, that is why I was thinking about doing this to my sled one of these years. Thanks a lot of you help, you answered all the questions. That is a sweet looking sled you have right there!!

Thanks. I truly believe that a 144" track/skid is the perfect balance for the Apex for the most versatile set up on that platform. It really balances out the weight and handling and I think it looks the best.

I'm still waiting to put some miles on my new SideWinder. It should be interesting to see which sled gets the nod as to my favorite after this season is over. The SW is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill after all the miles that I've spent fine tuning the Apex over the years.
