Hi, i'm thinking about getting a used 2006 Apex. Not sure if i'll get a GT, RTX, or ER. But i was just wondering if you guys could fill me in on and problems with these models in 2006.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i think i know the Apex GT had a bad shock, which caused the tunnel to bend. I also heard that the 2006 Apex GT had problems with the primary clutch being put on wrong from the factorie? Also the chaincase had problems?
What about the RTX and ER from 2006...any problems that i should know about with them beside the chaincase and handlebar warmers? Thanks alot, jord

IMO id grab a RTX...the fox floats truly are the best thing ive ever rode on....GTs have had some EC shock issues....tunnels will bend on any of these models in 06 if flap is sucked into studs, which was main reason from what i heard.
If you got a real good deal on a ER,Id buy that and ADD the fox floats to it....but you wont get the sweet candy red colors the rtx has.
since 08s are now out,its really a great deal to find an 06.....this is the nice thing about these 4 strokes, they can have alot of miles on them and still have tons of life left...so used 06 is just as good as a new 08 in my book.

I would think you could feel comfortable buying a sled reguardless of miles, as long as it still retains a clean appearance. If it looks like it has been through the ringer, it probably has. If it still looks like new even with 3500-4000 miles, chances are that it ahs been well taken care of.

If you are looking for an '06, I've got one I just might sell! It has a few mods including custom paint. Haven't decided for sure about selling it, but pm me if you think you might be interested.

4300 miles on my apex gt... 2 blow rear shocks and both shocks had broken wires.. (NO BENT TUNNEL)(no chaincase problems)
Other than a couple bad boggy wheels/bearings and a couple of worn out suspension bushings the sled itself has run flawless..
