I gutted my exhaust on my Warrior and it sounds the way it should have if it weren't for all the tree hugging mother fu kers in the world it's my sled and I like a little extra rumble.Just for saftey reason though.I would never do to piss some one off. Before anyone gets his knickers in a bunch when I go through residential area I go slow and don't rap on it.See noisey but thinking always of others.

One of the recent articles says the Apex exhaust is already lighter and throatier than the RX.
Just my $.02, but I strongly suggest running it stock at least for awhile until you are quite sue you want it louder.

its all in how you use it,i live right in town about 150yards from a rr bed I.T.S. trail in northern Maine,i have had loud pipes on every sled ive owned and my rx1 with gutted exhaust was the only one my neighbors didnt complain about,my 96 formula III with dynoport stingers was a lot louder,of course im older and wiser too so i know when to go easy and then when to let the flipper flip, its not as loud as my buddies crotch rocket with the slip-on muffler and not nearly as loud as a 2 stroke sled with a can but it just sounds mean like an hi performance 4-stroke should, you guys are correct when say the noise is hurting the trails but what i dont agree with is i cant legally put a borla cat-back system on my 98 corvette but an obnoxiuosly loud v-twin street bike can go up and down the roads as loud as they want and no one seems to mind that,i dont see what the difference is,all i can say is when im driving by your house really early in the morning or late at night im taking it easy to show a little respect but not everyone does ,hey tork when i seen presque isle i thought we lived close but mine is in Maine and your is in WI,any way see you on the trails

Most of us on here would probably always like something a little louder than the other guy, but performance is the most important to me. Pretty sure that "gutting" the muffler will actually hurt performance, since some aftermarket muffler manufacturers dyno numbers show that the factory really does have the design right the first time. Redneck engineering may not be the best thing to do on these top of the line machines.... JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH!!!! But hay- you guys doing this also probably also drive Chevy gassers w/ straight pipes and glass packs out the rear bumper, RIGHT? YOU TOO-what ya going to do?

So true!MightyWarrior said:cat hunter, sorry if we seem harse but somebody has to tell it like it is. The #1 threat to snowmobilers loosing trails is noise. If we don't give you a hard time, people that can shut down the trails will :ORC

Re: Need positive info
Manage them well and I hope you enjoy the ticket for the modified exhaust someday when they catch up to you...
cat hunter said:I've posted my question for some useful info and did't mean to get everybody all riled up over noise etc. I've got a genuine question and if anyone else can provide some info that would be much appreciated. On my Warrior, I only removed some baffles to make a nicer sound not just to make a bigger noise. I've had alot of comments from guys that said it sounded much nicer than stock.Need info on performance loss or gains .The rest of you can worry about trails in your regions and I "ll manage the Western Quebec Snowmobile Association trails. Thanks for the response anyways.

Face it guys, it takes a hundred of us that care about the sport to make up for one racer wannabe who just can't get past the sound of playing cards in his bicycle spokes...

Holy hell guys, why dont you meet in a parking lot and work it out like 5 year olds. I dont see anywhere that says he rides trails.
The guy asked a question that has been asked 5,000,000 times in here, (for all you new guys) and no one has been slammed like this before, for this question.
Chill out.
I would say gutting doesnt do much for them, little louder, good weight loss, dont know about hp changes.

What ever guy. I'm just trying to put a little humor in a thread that got way off base. This is the only thing I hate about this site.( and other ones) Someone askes a question and it turns into a slamming match. Why can't we just answere the question that was asked? Rather than preach. We all know the regulations of the trail system from state to state, some of you need to just answere the question being asked or say something productive or say nothing at all.
By the way, pipes do save live.....they hear ya comming! lmfao
