found one of each around me for sale, 4300 obo on the 06 nytro with 2,000 miles, 5700 obo on the apex with 2500 miles. Any input on either?

I had an 06 Nytro. Fantastic sled in comparison to the Vector and even my old Warrior. However deep down I really always wanted the Apex RTX instead. Especially on the lake. Get the Apex.

when I bought my first yamaha I bought my leftover 07 Nytro and same time my riding friend bought a leftover 06 Attak which is similar to the apex.

I love my Nytro and by buddy likes his attak but we only ride trails and sometimes he says the sled is to much for where we ride and he wishes he bought a smaller sled. We did a switch a few times riding and he said my Nytro is the perfect sled for our trails and is so much fun to ride. When I rode his attak it fealt like I was driving a battleship. Fealt heavy and very big. The torque scared me atfirst because the throttle is so touchy and the engine is so powerful. The attak/apex is to much for me.

It basically comes down to what you're looking for. A lot of guys on here feel the apex is underpowered and want more HP while I feel for my riding style and trails its to much.

I'd get the apex mostly because it has efi. No choke, it'll run perfect all the time and start perfect.

My brothers 06 nytro is so cold blooded, its ridiculous. Plus his oil tank is cracked (getting fixed now) and apparently the cam chain tensioners will go out on them also, according to our dealer.

If you are a slower trail rider, maybe you should look for a sled with the mono suspension because I dont think either one of these are gonna have a nice plush ride.

I have both, I really like the Nytro, and I put a lot of time, work and money into it, but I like the Apex better. The Delta box II chassis makes all the difference. And of course, the 150HP FI engine is just a pleasure to ride. Get the Apex, you'll be glad you did. ;)!

I wouldn't call my self a slow trail rider. My consistent speed is about 65-70+. Through narrow trails I'm around 50 warranting safe riding and conditions. But over all I'm definitely more fast trail rider then slow. And my shock rebuild guy can attest to that, lol!

I like the sit down ride of my 01 vmax 600, but like the riding on rails mogul mashing of the rev. I really want to put them both together for a happy medium and thats what I'm looking for in a machine. Been gone from blue so long I lost touch, lol! both the rev and the vmax are under powered to me but are acceptable.

I think maybe the apex may be what I'd like but not a smart choice if you know what I mean, lol!
I don't want to blow money on another sled I'm not happy with.. I like power, hard low torque, good cruising ride, strong mogul mashing ride, and it has to rail high speed corners without killing me cause I don't like to let off. I am open to adding skis and such but need the right sled to start with.

Apex is probably a better fit for what you're describing.

The fact that you say you want to cruise and rail then mark the Nytro off your list. It is more of a workout machine in twisties. Get the Apex and dont look back.

So you have a shock guy to get the rtx to ride good, you're up to buying skis to making a corner, you like to go fast and thought a 600 was under-powered... You want an apex. My old mxz 600 and my buddies f6 were not much slower than my bros 06 nytro...so if you want more power than that you'll want the apex.

Haha I guess I do want an apex, BUT I think the nytro would be enough power though. The power thing is something I want more as everyone does but wanting it doesn't mean its a good idea for me to have it. The ride, handling is alot more important and a definite want and need basis there.
My 06 rev had c&a adx ski's with 8" stud boy shapers, cudney clutch kit, geared down 2 on top, had 440x race shocks all around valved for trail riding and had gsx big boy torsions. It was a great sled after that, stock it was a huge pile in the ride department. What ever sled I get next is definitely not staying stock in the shock/ski department, but I'm also not going to drop alot of money on those things this time around as I did on the rev. How anyone rides the skidoos in stock form is beyond me, it was horrible riding, constant bottoming stock. My 01 vmax was a better trail sled then the doo in its stock form, after the upgrades it was insane. I sold it because I got sick of it really, just want something different, more of a cruiser as well as a mogul sled. Happy medium.

I'm thinking 06-07 nytro, or maybe a step up to the apex.. it comes to a point where i need to tell myself you have enough power, just enjoy the ride, lol!
I'm not really wanting the extra weight of the apex, but having not ridden one I cant say for sure.
there is a 2007 apex rtx with 2,500 miles for 5,700 locally.. Is that a good or bad deal? Also knowones commented on the 06 nytro with 2,300 miles for 4300, is that a good deal.
Thanks guys, as usual this site is awesome!

Sorry blue guys but I have to recommend......get a XP with an 800 or a XR with the 1200 4S. This is based on your saying the 600sdi isn't enough.

The Apex is a workout in the twisties..just ride one and see for yourself. The power will make you smile but that's about it. The XP 800 is one fine motor/chassis combo as is the XR 1200. THe 800 will get similar MPG to your sdi.

I wish I had the money to buy any new(er) sled!!! :o|

I would really like to get an 800r, or 1200 xp. But in comparison to price ranges I'm in right now I'm thousands short, lol! Plus I cant get over the cheaponess of the xps but the ride is awsome.
I need to be high end price wise 6500, would much prefer 4-5000 range though. I cant justify 8-10k for a sled with winter being this bad here..

The 600sdi is an amazing motor. very little complaints there. I just always found myself after 55mph wondering where the rest of the power was. It went 0-65 in record time, after that was leaving alot to be desired.. You know though the more I type here the more I realize how much I do really want more power, lol! Man wheres my head!
