What RPM should these sleds run at full throttle?

Mine looks to app 8800 at full throttle on a soft groomed trail.

Where do they make their power?

Any tips to making it work better, does not seem to be that fast?

Does gearing it up the same as a vector help?

Thanks for any info

they are geared for low end grunt, not for top speed. they are best sooted for trails and corner to corner. They are not or never claimed to be lake runners as far as top end is concerned.

I believe 8600 is where the sled makes peak power and they are like NJ said not lake runners. I dont think I ever saw 100MPH

Mine is running 9000-9100 now as the motor is loosening up. It used to run spot on 8500. 750 miles on it. I've read 8400-8500 is best for peak HP. I can feel that it isn't making power at that rpm. I'll have to clutch it soon. Yamaha doesn't reccommend making clutch adjustments untill the motor has loosened up, or you'll have to do it again.Gearing up will help your top speed if that is what you are looking for. This sled wasn't made for that purpose. Top speed isn't my primary concern, so I like the way it is geared.

I ran mine on asphalt one yearI tried running anywhere from 8300to 8800 because I didn't know how well these tachs are calibrated and 8600 is where it ran the fastest.
