Hi out there,

I'm buying a new sled, now. I've been in and out of sleds since I've been 5 years old, rode a 72 Scorpion Stinger before a bicycle. Had a Polaris 600 XP SC triple heavyweight for years, couldnt keep it running anymore. I'm buying a four stroke Yamaha, NOW.

Question is, Rage or Attak? Either is a 2006 leftover, I want the Attak but the price of the Rage just seems so reasonable.

I'm worried the Rage will lack power? The triple vs. four cyl?

I need some insight from you folks out there riding them.

Thanks!

Talk to pimpedrsrage, he has a 05 rage that he loves! 7300 miles on it i think and burn no oil! Im selling my Rage, cant afford it! Its got 2800 miles on it.

how fast do you want to go and what is affordable toyou is what you have to ask your self.
the rage will be plenty fast, but if you have some buds you ride with that need to be left behind, I guess the extra thousands of $$$$ would be worth it.
personally I got a killer deal on a new 05 rage....but I shop brand 1st and then look for the bargains....like buying in APRIL.
I can live with 110mph top end vs. 120 mph top end of the rx mill, but thats just me.

with another crappy winter in the midwest maybe i'll find a leftover 4cyl. next APRIL.

I got a deal on my 05 Rage and with a couple hundred dollars u can make it go plenty fast! And i got a deal on my sled! Pm me call me ar 715 415 4962.

i would go with the attak. more power, better ride, better ergonomics, fuel injection. the list goes on.

I ride an o6 attak and my wife rides an 05 rage. They are both great sleds. Which one you buy would depend upon what ride you are loking for. The attak is a more ridder foreward style with noticably more power and the rage is a more sit down style but it is not by anymeans sluggish. The rage can handle it's own against any 600-700 two stroke. The attak has fuel ingection the rage does not. the attak has the mono shock . These are not the same machines so I would pick which one suits your ridding style the best . You can't go wrong with either one.

Good advice from wakattak. I ran An Attak last year. It was the best overall sled I've ever ridden. I do 4000 miles a year. New 07 ATTAK GT is sitting in garage waiting for snow!

I ride an Attak and my wife rides a Vector. The Attak is a awesome sled. I put 4200 miles on it last year and was without a doubt the finest sled I've ridden. Be prepared though to deal with the idlers in the mono. All of mine need to be replaced after one season. Not due to coming apart but rather poor bearings. I have a 02 Viper with 8000 miles on it with original idlers still in the skid.
I also grew up on a Scorpion. My parents bought two 1970 Mark II's brand new for $600 bucks a piece. Amazing thing is they still ride them today!
Either way, you'll be pleased. The motor is worth it in itself.

I got a good deal on my new holdover '05 Rage about this time last year. I put about 900 miles on it last season and I love it. I don't know what kind of riding you like to do, but I am a kind of all purpose rider. I do a quite a bit of trail riding, but also do a lot of off trail wandering through the river valleies, ditch banging.... a little bit of everything.

The only modifications that I have done to it is I put a roller bearing secondary clutch kit in from Pioneer Performance last year. This past weekend I put a set of Fox Float shocks on. I only put the shocks on because I know a guy that had about 3 sets of them and gave me a set for dirt cheap.

If you really like snowmobiling I think you would be happy with either sled, it is just a matter of how much money you want to put into it.
