HI
I'm wondering if someone can help me out. While riding my sled this weekend, as I was cruising along it would shut off for a split second and come back on if I either backed off or got on the throttle. It seemed to happen in the range of 5000 to 6000 rmp. Not all the time and I couldn't make it happen. When it did happen, if I wasn't fast enough on the throttle change the gauges would come back to life as if I just started it. When I moved the throttle fast enough the gauges would go out and come back as they were. Engine dies, gauges, headlight and taillight go out. Either way it would start running again without actually starting it. I went a total of 200 - 300 miles in 2 days while this was happening. Sometimes it would happen more and sometimes it wouldn't do it at all. Definitely it didn't happen while I was pushing it hard. Only cruising.
Thanks in advance.

its restarting because you are moving, like push-starting a manual car. Either your kill switch is shutting it off or the key. Check for loose connections. open and clean out your kill switch...

What mileage do you have on that machine? Maybe it's the stator. If you have high milage then I'd look at that.

Only 4000 miles.
I'll look at the switches but as I was riding I was wiggling everything I could to see if I could find it.

Maybe someone could chime in about the Tors switch.
I know it's connected to the throttle cable and if not adjusted right it will slow down the sled. Also someone posted they had a recall on the Tors switch.
There is a way to disconnect it. Others here have done that. That might be a way to tell if it's that or not.

Just to close this out... Bad Kill Switch is the answer. After checking all wiring and switches with a meter, they all functioned properly. The next few rides went without a hic-cup. Thinking all the messing around with the connectors may have fixed the problem. This past weekend while riding for 2 days without an issue, the sled just shut off and wouldn't start. After disconnecting and jumping the kill switch I was back up and running in 10 minutes.
Thanks for all the help.
