I have a 2007 Apex ER on hold at my dealer but I am thinking of upgrading it to a 2008
I would like to know if there is any differences.
Did Yamaha recalabrate the rear shock for 2008. Also my dealer is telling me that I will recieve a cheque for $600.00 from Yamaha if I buy the 2007
and $685.00 for the 2008
thx.

i think they are only making the er in canada i dont see one on the u.s. lineup, I read that the shock on the 08 is much better than the 06-07 shock

I am not sure what the price difference is, but I'm guessing the difference is probably pretty significant. It may be worth looking into the 07 and having the shock sent in for a revalve to your weight and riding style. Just my .02 cents

There is nothing wrong with the 07 shocks. The only people complaining were the 06GT owners.

There is nothing wrong with the shocks on the 07, it is just that yamaha valved the monoshock differently on the 08's and the ride quality is supposedly improved over a larger range of terrain. The Tweaker said:There is nothing wrong with the 07 shocks.
