Has anyone had code 12 and the snowmobile still runs good. It's hard starting sometime just when it's cold. I tested the crank positioning sensor it has .511 om . When it's cold it starts like it out of time. Runs very good after you get it started. I put hundred and 40 miles on yesterday and had no problem.
I'm sure your pick up coil is on its way out.sooner than later. I would replace before it lets you down far away from far..
You can get a complete unit from Yamaha . Stator and pickup coil for $300+- or a complete unit from RM Stator for $150 or splice in the pickup coil only for $30 also from RM stator.

Mines a 2012 apex. Ordered my RMS pick up coil last night. Can you confirm the wiring color connection. My understanding is the colors dont coincide with the yammis wiring....
