Hi PPL,
Need help with a non starting Phazer.
A little background. Rode 93 miles on Fri. Not a problem. Went to start it on Sat., one little offer then nothing. Figured I flooded it or maybe froze up. Put in GL antifreeze and left it till Sunday. Tried cranking but no go.
My philosophy on a flooded engine is I make sure it's flooded. Then I can deal with it. I've seen too many guys hauling on a so-called flooded sled that wasn't flooded at all. On a carb engine I would prime or put the choke full on. On this FI I sprayed starting fluid in the intakes. Surprise, surprise. It runs on the starting fluid.
I checked the codes. No codes coming up. Fuel pump is pumping( took of the line to check along with hearing the pump,) Checked the injector fuse. good. Battery is at 12.2 volts
Not sure where to go now.

Any suggestions. :o|
I have a service manual.

not to be a jerk, but i am almost out of fuel at around 90 miles.. so does it have fuel in it??? again not trying to be a jerk..

What model year Phazer? How fast does the engine crank when you try to start it?

Well I'm stumped ... sorry. The 07's did have issues with the starter, and that's where I was going with my questions, When the starter begins to fail, engine cranking is too slow and the ECU won't let it fire. But it sounds like your engine is cranking fast enough for it not to be an issue. Do you know if your sled has had an updated starter installed?

Since you have fuelpressure it must mean your injectors just arent opening. That would be the ECU or much more likely connections associated with it.Disconnect all connections possible one at a time and dielectric grease them all. There is a very small possibility the injectors cou be physically plugged stuck or frozen but I have never heard of that with our Phazers.

but would it be normal to have a bad connection and not get a code. also, when I did diagnostic via the onboard actuator all was good as in the values were where they were supposed to be and when I toggle tests for the injectors, relay etc. all was good. I could hear them cutting in and out.

all connections I could see greased with dialectic . Still no go. None of the connections had any signs of corrosion

You could use a Noid light or a test light to check if your injectors are getting a signal to open. You said you heard fuelpump running but maybe fuel isnt making it to the injectors.Anyway to check fuel pressure?Dangerous fire wise but you could remove fuel line at tank and cycle it to see if fuel is at least being pumped.Prepare for a mess or stick a hose on and run it into a jar.

Haven't checked the pressure with a gauge, but I did take the line off at the tank and cycled the pump. had lots of flow as in clean up afterward. I'll check the injectors next. Thanks again for your time

maybe im missing something obvious here, but have you checked the plugs? Are they wet with fuel after trying to start it?
