2007 Yamaha Nytro
Hey guys I have a 2007 Yamaha Nytro with the 973 (Genesis 120) engine and I am looking to install a 2009 Genesis 130 FI engine in it. I did some research and the 120 and 130 share the same block, except the 130 is bored out larger (1050cc) The 120 has a cracked block.

Is it is simple as swapping the carbs onto the genesis 130 engine? What else do I need?

Thanks

Tim

Id swap the entire motor and harness if it was me. Way better built motor in the 130.

The FI engine has a crank position sensor that reads of the reluctor ring on the stub shaft and the carb'd engine has a pulser coil in with the stator. Two different ignition systems that I believe would require the engines original wire harness and ECU to run properly. Even if the stator/pulser/flywheel and carburetors all could be installed on the FI engine block in order to keep the same wire harness and ECU I would prefer to keep the fuel injections over the carb'd system.
