I have seen all of the letters about the poor handwarmers on 2006-2007 Apex sleds. Is anyone still experiencing this problem with the 2008 models? I had a 2004 RX1 before the Apex and rarely would put the hand warmers on over 3 or 4 bars. Now I have them on high and my hands are still cold. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Gauntlets or a bigger windshield. I never ran with gauntlets before my attak but now if is cold I stick them on and can run in sub zero temps with warmers on 2-3 bars and be very warm.

On my 07 Apex, what I originally thought were crappy hand warmers turned out to be a poorly designed windshield. An aftermarket Cobra windshield fixed my handwarmer issue.
Try some Skinz handguards if their production ever comes close to catching up.

to answer your question....the 08s are same as 07s....they suck....yammie thinks they are fine, but noone else agrees.
06 bars will fix the issue, some on ebay right now.
IMO gauntlets, windshields or any other MASK to fix the poor warmers is not fixing the warmers...heck,old srxs had less of a windshield and would BURN your hands off.
this is one major thing yammie needs to address....among the other issues....the motor kicks #*$&@,but lots else needs to be addressed for these sleds to be better.

My 08 LTX Gt is toasty as can be at 3 or 4 bars, even at -25 Celcius. Thumb warmer is almost too hot at 3 bars

I have mine in for the first service, I better get this looked at. Do you still have the factory windshield on your sled?
I rode last week in maine. And I used lite moto cross gloves with my hand warmers on mid to 3/4 and the thumb could only stand mid any higher and I couldn't stand the heat. I sometimes think that some gloves have to much insulation in the palms to feel the heat of the hand wamers. Just for giggles try a thinner glove so you can feel the heat. Plus you can feel the sled better and there cheaper then a windshield.

- 2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
They take a long time for heat to build and when I stop right next to my wifes 03 Vmax and take my gloves off and feel mine set on high and her's set on medish with my bare hands her's are always hotter. Her's will burn you on a day that might be in the 20's.
So it's the OEM design for our sleds.

If you do not want to put on the '06 bars, then buy some handguards and/or a better windshield. Also buy some gauntlets if you ride below zero F.
Powermadd handguards & Powermadd (Cobra) mid height windshield works for me until it gets really cold (below zero), then I put my Powermadd gauntlets on. Toasty!
However I totally agree with Dan. Yamaha knows how to make better handlebar warmers. Both of my SRX's and my Viper could burn your hands off!

Replacement bars for the 06 really work well !
On really cold days let sled idle to heat up before starting for the day ! Orginal bar if you started cold they would stay cold !

My 08 Hand Warmers work just fine, and I've been out in -34 Cel, all I have is Power Madds over the bars.
My 2001 SRX was the best H.W. I'VE EVER SEEN.......They would melt your gloves, those were HOTT
BTW....My 1969 SL 351....DIDN'T HAVE ANY, as a matter of fact I don't remember seeing any till about the Mid 80's
