Picked up my Nitro this week. After looking it over briefly the thought occurred to me, this sled sure looks lighter than it realy is. Sure looks like Yamaha tried to take the weight off, many changes as compared to my 2006 Apex for sure, but only 44 lbs lighter. My stock Apex with no fuel, no picks out of the crate and assembled was 592 on digital scales. The new Nitro came in at 548, no fuel as recieved. Certificate of origin says 522 dry weight. All in all it looks nice, typical Yamaha quality but no extra trim pieces. I would have added a few here and there. I believe Dave at Powderlites has his turbo kit about ready and Mac at Mountain said Supercharger kits will ship this month. :flag:

Didn't I see scale pictures on this site of an Apex Mountain on the scale at 698lbs and a Nytro MTX at 608lbs...both full wet and ready to ride. That's 90lbs lighter?

Check out this Yammie vs Doo-Doo photo... 196lb difference !!! ...:drink:

NO FAIR!! - the Yami had lead under the seat and the Doo didn't have an engine!!!! - first it was a HP race, now it is a weight race - how about a quality race?? - we already know who the winner of that would be!!!

Can't wait to see what the "others" say when that scale is at the parking lot, expo events or major riding areas. No more BS ~ having mine on the scale in October.

All the manufacturers are full of it when it comes to weight, but Doo takes the cake by far. And people are supposed to believe them when they say their new engine is reliable? Yeah, right.
