HOLTZMAN, clutching, A/F's, etc...

Well, not really good conditions for testing this weekend. The lakes were slushy with about 7" of snow on them.

So I found the best spot to run and I figure it was approx 2000'. It was likely less.

The best I could run without nitrous was 99.0 mph on the GPS.

First run on the bottle netted a 113.4 mph with the track RATCHETING at 100 mph!!!!!! SO back to my uncles a mile away to tighten the track.

Second run was better, rolled on the throttle to about 50 mph then wacked it FULL!
118.6mph on the GPS!!!

Special notes...first run fuel screw set at 8 turns out. Second run it was leaner at 7.5 turns out.
Sled is revving 10600 to 10700 on nitrous. Slush seems to pull the rpm down!!

Here's the vid!!

I'm unable to get the clip to play.

You get an error? Seems putfile is slow today. Do you use Firefox? Try it in IE maybe. In a day or two, putfile will have converted it to another format to make it easier to play. You could also download it. Just below the video it says 'download'.

I got it to play, but skips.

Are you running stock gearing? I have had my RTX up to 126 on speedo. I think it was probably 110 mph or so. This was before I had the NOS.

How long were you on the NOS?

P.S. I just ordered a bottle heater.

I don't have a bottle heater...did you notice the bottle was outside overnight at -28c. It was all frosty all day.
23-38 gears.

Best I could run WITHOUT nitrous was 99.0 mph on the GPS. WITH nitrous was 118.6 mph on GPS.

Remember, the lake had like 7" at least of snow on it and SLUSH!! Every patch of slush would pull my rpm's down to 10600 from 10800.

Oh yeah, I rolled on it to about 50 or 60 mph then hit the nitrous....

Yes, I am crazy.

video is playing better now....

hey bud...

great seeing you again today in No. Bay....Congrads on your killer speeds in 2000ft....your setup works awesome....Ill let you do the honors of giving out your speeds here...

All i can say is WOW,Im now a believer in the Holtzman NOS kit...nothing like hitting the bottle for an instant 12-15mph gain in 2000ft!!!!!!

Cant wait to get mine installed!

Dan

Looks like you did a good job. Very well thought out.

So with the Hotlzman kit you T the stock fuel line? I was told by the nitrous guru at NX that the reason they include a fuel pump in their kits is because during their testing on EFI streetbikes that the stock fuel system couldn't support more than about 30 more HP.

Have you guys tested these kits on an engine dyno to see if you are getting the rated HP hit? I get 1500 rpms with a 50 shot.

When I bought my N.O.S. kit that's what I wanted to do is T the stock fuel line, but both N.O.S. and NX didn't recommend it.

Just curious.

No fuel pump needed for his kits.

Jon....I hope you dont mind me posting these results here....these are the North Bay radar run results from sunday...Jon took first place in 4 stroke category and 2nd place in 1000open...also put some stock machs to shame too!....congrads!

Congrats Jon!

What kind of track are you running Jon? Just curious, cause I'm thinking of going down the nitrous route this off season and running the Predator like Dan runs.

ttt for sj.

schmeg, I had the stock track the first year, and last year I had the Phazer track.

"87gtNOS" How much do you back off your timing on your PC3 when on the button?

Well, the first season I never had a PCIII. So I didn't back off any timing!!

Last year I got the PC and timing module. I took out 4 degrees.

I had the PC hub with toggle switch. I was able to program the PC to NOT allow the nitrous to activate on MAP1, no matter what the throttle position or whether the nitrous was activated. MAP1 prevented any nitrous from spraying. Now, switch to MAP2, and the PC had a 'window' in which it would allow the nitrous to spray, of course the nitrous had to be activated and the ZEX WOT switch was still installed too. (note that the ZEX WOT switch is not required anymore, because the PC can be programmed to spray the nitrous at any rpm and any TPS.)
