My test track is slightly up hill and far from perfectly smooth. All gear changes were made within a couple of hours and air density, temp, and snow conditions were the same amongst all. The shoot out sled was a 135 hp sled as well, just think what it would've done with 139 hp.

;)!

spec, I remember there being the scenario last year with some higher HP Nytros and some claimed it was the exhaust that was making the difference. If that is true what is the situation for 2009? The higher version of 139ish or the lower HP version of 135ish? Just curious...... or is it still a mystery?

I did a fair amount of testing with different stock mufflers, etc. I don't believe any of it had to do with different mufflers rather I believe it had to do with differences in motors from sled to sled. I believe we saw a difference in simply production tolerances as much as anything.

nytro top speeds

ive had different findings

08 nytr rtx-103.7 mph gps -2-3 k's to the bars 1100 kms odometer
09 nytro xtx 144"track 103.1 mph gps 2-3k's to the bars (today) 2000km odometer

no one else?

I hit 110 on the speedo today. What do you think that would really be with a gps. Hard packed snow covered road.

(250lbs. mid sheild with side deflectors. all stock 500miles 114 studs)

Ok just got off the lake, light snow -6c soft loose snow pack (slow conditions)

my XTX was hitting 99-100mph speedo (95.3 mph GPS) 4-5mph error

Same rider on an Apex GT 112 Speedo (99 mph GPS) 13mph error

and yes he has a very strong running GT has hit 122 on GPS.\\

so we are 3.7 mph differance on top end tonight

I was even with apex RTX out there but we didnt GPS him

on a drag race we were the same out of the hole, but his mid range was killing me and our top end were close he was just slowly pulling on top end.

My best top speed so far was 111mph speedo (106 MPH GPS)

So far my biggest fear coming from an Attak was missing Top end, so far I'm very happy cause my attak was slower than the GT I raced tonight...again very happy with the top end so far....

What does the Apex GT have for mods?

The highest I've seen on light snow on ice with 114 studs 1.5 track was 9000 rpm. Highest speed I noticed was 166km/hr or 103.75 mph on hard snow with a few thin drifts. This was on long pulls over 1 mile. Absolute top speed for the conditions.
I raced my friends RTX apex and jumped ahead 2 lengths then he would pass right about 95mph and pull away. Last year when racing his Apex RTX with my Apex LTX GT he would jump ahead and I could never beat him.
I loose a little on the top end but what I gained in the bottom with the XTX I'd never trade back for. My Apex just sits alone when the XTX and I take off...LoL

Is your xtx stock?

Were you riding at S.W. park on Sunday? I saw two guys with an 08 rtx & 09 xtx.

xtx had excell on it if I remember.

For the record, the FX_nytro is supposed to run in the 6-7 hundred class when raceing. So loseing to a 600 iq is not that bad. We'll see what comes up and how it goes. These are NOT race track sleds, but they hole shot like a sob.

Hope this helps, in any small way it can.

Real life, nothing stay with a Nytro from 0-90 mph, XP 800r, Apex, Mach Z, F7, F8, F1000 etc... The Nytro always badly pull 3-4 lenghts on them. I'm on the lake every weekends, different people are racing all the times, the Nytros always win the short races. Of course it's not a top speed sled.
