Miles? Those mirrors are worthless, that's top of the market I'd pay

good eye grizz-- plus all the changes from the 08 to 09 means you have to get an 09 or newer-

Even if the frame is bent it only has 2500 miles so it's still worth around $3000. The frame can be replaced or in some cases straightened and reinforced so it doesn't happen again. You might be able to talk the owner down a little on price due to the frame issue. I prefer the 2008 front geometry over the updated 09+ sleds so don't let that scare you away.

If its clean, I would say that's a good buy. Miles are miles. I bought an 08' Anniversary Nytro two years ago for $3,000 with 5,600 miles that was stretched to 144". My subframe was also tweaked and the steering pivot was loose and ovaled the mounting holes in the subframe brackets. I bought grizztracks subframe reinforcement kit and straightened the frame and welded in the reinforcements. Looking forward to getting it on the snow for the 1st time this year if we get any snow. I think the 40th Annivesary sled colors is one of Yamaha's best color combos. G.B.

I agree with Grizztracks comments, he is Da Man and helped me a bunch with my 2008 Nytro.

I paid $4500 4 years ago for mine and it had 326 miles on it. Did the ball joints, steering relocate and welded in gussets, all with the help of Grizz.

Rides and drives great now, awesome motor.

I still have it but went over to the dark side and bought a new 2018 Ski Doo Renegade Enduro, 800 E Tec this year but haven't ridden it yet due to no snow

Agree, there are 2010/2011 XTXs out there with 5000-7000 miles I would go for and get better (2009+) front end geometry, front frame gussets and other improvements. Great sled no matter what.

Just picked up 08 nytro took it for first ride and it goes as strait as a drunk line dancer has new carbides any good starting points or for sale sign

Yamaha did not use enough angle on the 2008 spindles which they corrected in 2009 by relaxing the angle quite a bit. Even with that on my 2009 it was not solved until I installed new Tuner 2 skis and the full Bergstrom carbide and shim setup. Your least expensive route is likely get the Bergstrom shims that go under the rubber bushing on each ski after you reverse the rubber plus get their ski saver shims that will go under your new carbides. Those Bergstrom items are cheap, less than $50. Maybe it will be workable for you... If not you can get Mountaintechs A arms which fix several geometry issues. 2008s are known for the darting issues. If A arms are too $$$ then skis could help, many opinions on those too. I went with the Yamahas as I didn't want to spend the money for curves or others that many people like here. I found the Bergstrom /Tuners work well, no darting, like on rails but a lot goes to the triple point carbides and shims and savers and reversing the rubbers too...

Starting points: If running stock skis install a set of Stud Boy Deuce bars or Woody Slim Jim's (I prefer the deuce bars) and set toe to 1/2" total out. Install a 3/16" shim under the rear of the ski rubbers (I used 3/16" aluminum plate). Back off the center skid shock until the spring is loose then retighten about 4 turns. If running floats up front set them 60 to 65 psi and if coilover springs start soft on preload and increase until you find what you like. Finally, Don't let anyone tell you the 08 front geometry is inferior to the 09+ setup. Most Nytro owners never experienced both setups so most the 08 negativity comes from people that really don't know. Yamaha actually over did it when they added caster and trail to the 09+ Nytro's. The changes took out some of the twitchy feel which the early Nytro owners complained about but in doing so it increased steering effort. All the 08 needs is a little extra negative camber which can be added by modifying the upper ball joints. Removing approximately 2.5 mm off the shoulder of the upper ball joints will tip the top of the spindle in giving it the needed camber. Any machine shop can do this fairly cheap and I do them for free. There's more but for now this is what I'd start with and it won't empty your wallet.

Great advice! Happy 2019!

Yup. That's pretty well it in a nutshell.
