2011 Apex XTX
I came off of a 2007 Attak GT which is 136 long track and bought a 2011 Apex XTX. I basically ride trails and do get into some deeper snow once in awhile.
I personally would not settle for anything less than a 136 inch track. The Apex XTX is 144 with the back tilted up. I do not see any negative handling with the longer track. Properly set up, the XTX is a great trail sled. The Power Steering makes the day effortless. The sled just has too much HP and Torque for a 121, unless heavily studded. I do not stud mine. There isn't a lot of difference between the Attak and the XTS . The Apex feels smoother, more responsive, and is a hell of a cruiser. The Attak GT isn't bad either. I rode a 2011 Apex SE and didn't like the feel. Too squirley, etc. Of course, all sleds must be set up for your particular riding style. I think that it boils down to a matter of preference. All of the people that I ride with are going to long track sleds no matter the brand. I also put a set of Curve skis on the front, softened the spring rates on the front , and run a soft set up in the back. I like the supension to work as much as possible. I am not a ditch banger. I really like this sled.
