2009 Big Moose Shoot Out

dad ran one of the boosted arctics the other week, he said he was impressed. Very simple set up and have that Arctic Cat hole shot. They will be tough to beat.

Nice set up D & D have with that kit. considering the price difference for a apex with a stage 1 turbo or blower kit.

Yeah, but D&D's big Z1 got beat by a boosted Doo in E.T. at the Amsnow shootout, too...

Mark Tangus wasn't the top dog there either & he's got one fast sled :flag:

Tough crowd to be the top dog in

AJ and Art have the right idea - go fast - have fun - make some new friends along the way ---- nothing too serious ;)!

Your right, but i was talking "trail sleds" since this is a trail sled shootout? Mark Tangas's Apex was beat by Tony Koz's F1000 Boondocker 1200 Lakeracer by 0.44 sec but not convinced that particular machine could make it from Slickers to Trail 5 without a chase truck full of expensive spare parts... I might be wrong, though.

Mark actually rides that Apex on the trails in OF, as is at 360+HP... just like he did last year, with big brass balls dragging behind his snowflap... LOL!

Just out of curiosity, what's the closest airport to this event connecting through TO or Chicago?

AJ, Syracuse maybe?

I guess thats closest, I am not familiar with the airports, Buffalo is about 4-5 hr drive and NYC is about 4-5hr drive as well.

Syracuse is Hancock International airport Code SYR
Rochester International airport Code ROC

Both are within 3-4 hr drive

Thinking of coming out Jim???

I seen mark this past weekend at the bowling alley, tried to get to say HI but to many distractions. I didn't see him on his sled though!!

Not seriously at this point, but I'm going to check some options. If Mrs. Lakercr asks, this is a service call...

Jim You can fly into Albany which is about an hour and a half out or check into Utica which I am not sure of.

AJ,
Just wanted to confirm still open to allow a few ineligible lakeracers to play around as well? Last night I talked to Dougie Dawson and Johnny from OF about the upcoming Shootout and they were very very interested in bringing out their recently Dynotech tuned turbo lakeracer Apex's for a few friendly passes but will skip the required trail ride because of their new speed tracks and chisel studs on the road crossing. They fully understood when I told them that they would be just exihibition and NOT eligible to any title or prize... but they sure just want to line up against some of OF's finest for "gits and shiggles"...
Personally I have a suspicion it's more to line up against each other for grudge match bragging rights in front of a crowd and give us something more to BS about at the bar... ;)!

Also, has anyone bumped into Mark Tangas?
Maybe someone could stop in and let him know about this just in case...
