I recently upgraded from an 09 Phazer MTX to an 09 Nytro XTX and have some questions on the steering, specifically why it is so difficult to steer and how I can make some adjustments to improve the low speed steering.
I know that the 08's had issues that were supposedly resolved, but I am still having issues with this 09 when going less than 20 mph... typically this isn't an issue, especially when I have some powder under the sled, but I also have to haul fuel, etc in and out of the cabin and it is SOOOO difficult to steer with a load.
I'm 5'5 and 140lbs so I am probably affected by the steering issue more than most...
I checked the alignment of the skis last night and it appears that they are toed in (so I obviously have to adjust that out before the next ride) and I have the narrow skis on there (would wider ones help with the darting? I can't really afford to upgrade to the C&As but have heard good things about them), but I would like to know if you all have any suggestions on how I can adjust or retrofit this sled to not be such a workout on the slower parts of the trail.
I also have ski bushings on the way that the former owner had ordered... would bad bushings solely lead to these steering issues? Shocks have all just been rebuilt/replaced with GYR's and I have not adjusted them since purchasing the sled last week.
Forgive me for any silly questions with obvious answers, but I am always learning and do my own maintenance... the phazer was such a light, easy to ride machine, but wasn't nearly enough power for the riding I do and I just can't imagine that upgrading to the Nytro should be this difficult.
This thing rips in the powder and isn't so bad on the windy trails if I maintain a speed of more than 20mph.
Thanks! All information and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the links. I will take some time to browse them... the first link looks especially helpful.
I'll still take more input from others, though, since I really couldn't find a good, thorough answer to my "problem" in 3 days of searching these forums (hense my creating an account and posting today).

You don't mention what size carbides you have on and if your skis are shimmed or not?

I'm honestly not sure which carbides are on there... It wasn't specified when I bought the sled, but I'm sure they aren't anything fancy since the previous owner kept it pretty basic. And they aren't shimmed.

You should review this video from OFT on a steering reloacte kit:
http://youtu.be/451tUV5BOQw
The video speaks for itself. The angle of your arms, when steering, switches to a flater plane. This new flatter steering angle allows for a more natural arm motion which requires less muscle strength. After four years of difficult steering, I decided to add a steering relocate kit on my nytro. I actually needed to ride a sled that already had a steering reloacte kit installed.
Also, if you post in the Nytro General Talk section, many sledders would offer their opinions. You can also do a search on steering relocate kits.
