Are all Nytros as hard to steer as mine? I never really realized how difficult it was to steer this sled until I rode a Viper last weekend. the Viper feels like is has power steering compared to the Nytro. Aside from letting out the limiter strap, which is already all the way out, what else can be done to lighten up the weight on the skis to make it easier to steer? I have the front shocks at 60lbs. The center shock is barely showing a few threads and I installed the Star relocate and it still feels heavy to steer.

What sled are you coming off of?

The Nytro is a heavy steering sled.
The star relocate kit makes the steering heavier BTW.
Running your limiter strap loose helps, stay away from heavy carbides and def stay away from aggressive aftermarket skis.

Split rails will cut the turning effort in half.
My friend has a Viper and although you cant dispute the front end geometry of that sled (it's pretty awesome), I have my Nytro running pretty darn close.
Play with the centre shock a bit. If you tighten it, the steering will lighten up - but too much - will loose bite in the ski.
The Nytro turns like a dream compared to the Apex/Vector chassis.

The viper with stock skis is almost 0 steering effort Imo. My fathers we tightened limiter 1 hole and loosened center shock 1/4" because it wouldn't turn and wouldn't grab. Helped slightly. He switched to c&a razors this year and it grabs great and almost to heavy of steering again now so gonna switch back to factory suspension settings.

Tuner skis with not too much carbide(4-6 inch on the inside none outside) , limiter straps loose, transfer rod middle, front ski shock spring preload loose, front of rear spring set to max and rear torsion springs soft with all compression out of shock. If the rear bottoms add in more compression or set torsion to medium. My 13 steers easy and rides smooth with very little bottoming out. Also has great hookup!!

X2 on the tuner skis and I only run 45psi on my ski shocks. Front end is low but it turns!

Check your spindle lower ball joints. If they are shot it will be real hard to turn, I have changed mine out twice. Raise the front off the ground and check for play.

Skis dont make much of a difference for ease of turning, its your limiter strap adjustment that can change the majority of how heavy/light the steering is. Although we are riding fat #*$&@ four strokes so the steering will never really be "light"
