Just bought a nytro xtx put 400 miles on it and love it!!! I was wondering what needs done to make the sub frame stronger and what accessories other people have on :yam:

The grizz gusset kit seems to be the ticket. He'll be along shortly I'm sure.

I haven't put any accesories on mine but have seen some with rear racks and a turnout on the exhaust some saddle bags. Some with digital temp gauges. There's a nice little clutch cover bag available from either skinz I think it is or Gears I believe the company is called. Going off of memory

Always loved my engine but hated my suspension. I bought
the star suspension kit and had them revalve my shocks. Now
I need a new helmet, this ones too tight from smiling nonstop.
70mph on rough trails 1 handed if I want to with shimmed skis.

See signature but next on wish list is Yamaheaters and star suspension kit.

thanks for all the info going to star looking for stuff. where do I buy the gussets? For the ride I love how this sled rides, I ride hard on rough trails and coming off a 04 rx warrior this sled is like floating on air!!!!

K/N's, Exhaust, and power commander and the sled will be super and pull like mad. Zbors front end and a steering relocate.

I installed 18.25" long Fox front shocks instead of gusseting my subframe, from what I've heard the sub-frame gets its damage from the front shocks bottoming hard, the longer front shocks with their added travel and better valving keep this from happening. Also installed JRE front spindles and skid lowering kit. Riding before and after is like night and day. I'm as fast or faster than my friends new Viper and he isn't happy about that.

I'm not sure where you got that from but I disagree.

When I was using the stock shocks my front suspension would bottom very easily, wouldn't take much. Many people told me that the XTX suspension was harsh and stiff but what they were actually feeling was the suspension bottoming out. This is why I think I bent my subframe. With the longer front shocks and better valving my front suspension never bottoms out, and my subframe has never become bent like my old one. Plus the sled is much easier to ride, especially in the big bumps.

I bent my subframe doing about 20 km/h on a stump or rock just under the snow. A buddy of mine bent his loading on a trailer when his carbide hooked. The harsh and stiff feeling on the nytro isn't the suspension bottoming out. If you think it is then you haven't bottomed out the front suspension. When you bottom it out your whole body feels it and it doesn't feel that great!

Hitting things will most likely bend stuff I agree, and don't get me wrong, having a stronger frame is probably a good idea, like installing grizztracks kit.

My Friend and I both bent our sub-frames on the trail. Both of our XTX's were sprung and valved very softly from the factory. We both replaced ours with new ones and after some research decided to lengthen and stiffen the front shocks.
This upgrade along with the lower center of gravity of the JRE spindle really transformed our sleds into world class machines. It also has never bottomed out since I upgraded the shocks nor has it bent my new sub-frame.
