Hello.... 2009 SE bought brand new.... two years ago wouldn't idle back fires etc...... been in storage for two years now took it out new gas, sea foam, battery fully charged, spark plugs, NO change ! checked the codes NOTHING.... cycled the ISC it did sound slow to cycle and always vibrated.....did it several times, another set of new plugs now it idles poorly and very very rich WONT rev out rev limiter effect....ok literally cycled the ISC 50 plus times..... hours later had time to start it NO change...at the end of the day- 2nite new plugs.....but no idle same old same old.... ok now I swapped relays around.....started crappy BUT BUT now it revs out like it should get down around I say 2500 rpms pops- skips- wont idle again stalls ou,i then refire using the throttle revs to the moon..... I checked and read and read for days on here countless searches etc........harness rub areas NOTIN ! etc etc......ever time a change NO CODES tripped ! 690 miles.....OMG ! original relays but this sled has always been stored in doors....Im so freakin frustrated with this sled !!!! bring to a dealer right ? yeah but I don't need a "parts replacement " program at my expense ......

Sounds like injectors are plugged up and not allowing a good spray pattern causing flooding and your run problems. Your fuel system may be all gummed up from gas sitting in it for two years.

What I read is the ISC motors go bad....mine started sluggish and now it sounds crisp and smooth. I put sea foam in with some new hi-test gas, I'm Getin new red Relays shipped out to me now....when I messed with the relays " swapped " it wouldn't idle but revved out like it should..." A change " I'll get some special fuel injection cleaner crap...thanks

Put new relays on and no change....this sucks ! I just can't understand how fuel injection system could be plugged or varnished ....had other brand EFI machines never ever had a problem from sitting..... Are the yamahas that delicate ? Very odd....

From my experiences when injectors plug, they plug solid. Aka no gas at all.
I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it, just to rule out the pump and regulator. Not sure if the Nytro has a FPR (fuel pressure regulator - I think it does) but maybe its jammed closed, so ur putting too much pressure (and therefore too much gas) into the engine.
edit: I found this:
Maybe this internal valve is gummed shut and your pressure is too high.
If the pressure checks out ok and within limits, then i would assume maybe a stuck open injector or possibly the situation 1nc2000 described..
And with that long of sit time, I wouldn't even bother with sea foam or any of that crap, does more harm than good on the seals IMO.

mbarryracing said:A Nytro doesn't have a return fuel line so the fuel dumps back at the in-tank fuel pump, via a built in pop-off valve that you could technically call a regulator. However, it doesn't "regulate" the fuel pressure to compensate for engine load like the vacuum referenced regulators on the fuel rails do. The fuel pressure stays constant. I agree, I also remember MPI offered a fuel system upgrade that consisted of a new regulator and a return fuel line adapter but can't recall if that included a new or additional fuel pump.

I did put a bottle of sea foam in and made sure all old gas was out and put in new hi octane...when the sled was a week old the starter clutch came apart becuz Yamaha never used loctite on the screws....dealer took care of it and never cleared the code 12 until I did when sled came home....I'm wonder when that all happened the crank position sensor was damaged ? I'm going to pop throttle bodies off and inspect all ports / holes for blockage and varnish in the morning and clean every thing it can. I'm also going to order a new CPS becuz I think that's the problem....never took it out and checked it to see what the ohms are..again NO CODES recorded....I will post what I find to maybe help others

Did you figure it out? I'm having a similar issue with my SR Viper.I did put a bottle of sea foam in and made sure all old gas was out and put in new hi octane...when the sled was a week old the starter clutch came apart becuz Yamaha never used loctite on the screws....dealer took care of it and never cleared the code 12 until I did when sled came home....I'm wonder when that all happened the crank position sensor was damaged ?
