Does anyone know if any changes were made to the 2009 Venture Lite from the 2008 model.

I certainly hope so for the sake of new buyers and us looking for improvements and trying to stay positive.
But if not here is an 08 for sale (not mine, ahah) and will never fetch that price. First one I have seen for sale in NL.

Looks like they went with a different clutch according to the 09 brochure and website.

According to the website there is no new clutch. Same as Phazer and not the same as Nytro/apex.

wierd
The other sleds have YVXC clutch. I think the YPZ name could be an extra name for the YXRC clutch.

What about the icing problem and loud noise? Have they done anything to improve these two problems?

If I'm not mistaken,
YXR: http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/partimage ... 105098,2,0
YPZ: http://parts.yamaha-motor.com/partimage ... =21597,2,0
The YXR was the upgrade for the YPZ. I can't see them actually using the YPZ in anything new, unless they have a surplus of parts they need to get rid of. They worked about the same and were used on the same sleds (but of different model years, ie Exciter/ExciterII, Phazer/PhazerII), but the YPZ liked to accumulate a lot of dirt due to being closed in.

Ok, If that is the case they must have written wrong in -07 and -08. Because that is not what was on the 4stroke phazer from the beginning, it has allways been yxr.

Could very well have been a miss print in the brochure. I am looking at the 09 brochure and they have the XTX and all the LTX models listed with a 15 X 121 X 1.25 Rip Saw track, OOP'S. Wonder who was proof reading these

That is definitely a question that we need an answer to. Just a question,: are you talking about the noise caused by the icing build-up or the regular engine noise?
The clutch and reversing problem is also an important issue which I hope is going to be fixed. With these fixes we would definitely have a very good sled.

I see the 2009 VL has a rear heat exchanger. Did the previous year have this and if not will it help alleviate the icing problem??

I was a fly on the wall, but there is a rear heat exchanger on the Venture Lite. It was briefed at the Northeast dealers seminar / show. The rear exchanger should in fact help the icing issue. The reps were certainly aware of the problem.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for listening to the consumer Yamaha!
Now, please put one on my 07.
Good to have a few flies around. Thanx Hondo.
