2009 xtx ski pressure...help pls

Some may flame this idea as I've seen it happen here before but I'll say it anyway. Try and I repeat try, tighening your rear limiter strap. This should in theory pull up the rear a bit, in turn transfering the weight to the back or the track portion of the sled. If you put you sled on a flat hard surface you'll see that the front of the track may be slightly off the ground. This tell me that the weight is not distributed evenly to the whole track. By raising the rear you'll use the whole area of the track and it should relieve some of the ski pressure. By doing this you may loose a bit of your travel but it's really only the travel used during the precoupling motion anyway. Have a friend check your coupling arm position with you on the sled (in all your riding gear). My guess is that it's furthur forward than it should be anyway. If nothing else it's something to try and document what effect it had. I would go one hole then two then even three until you can really tell what effect it's having on the ride. You can always return it back to stock.

hey guys...found my problem...tried everything, but still not right..I have a bad shock the one on the right side , the bottom damping adjustment is stuck cant move it at all ,,dealer has new one on order, let you know when i get it

LJ, the XTX doesnt have a rear limiter, it has the ajsustable transfer rods. But that seems like a good Idea to try on the RTX's if someone is having the same issue.

Shock dampening has nothing to do with ski pressure. Preload is the key, and your stock setup won't allow you the adjustment range to adequately reduce the ski pressure. The most effective way to ease the ski pressure and steering effort is to change the front shock springs to triple-rates. The front end will be lowered a little bit and with that the deep snow performance is compromised slightly but the steering effort will be very easy and the trail performance will be improved. There are a couple of threads about Hygear's triple-rate spring kits and the results after adding them. I did it to one of my XTXs so I speak from experience.
