OK....I am just a glutton for punishment....I promised last year, that I would let this topic die a quiet death....but...any interest in a more "family" oriented ride or two this winter?

Maybe if I start this really early this year, I will get more interest than one lonely, old, partially senile, and slightly overweight man ( :hide: hey ya' Buddah!).

We did one ride last year, and Buddah was the only one to show up. We still had a good time. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=80219

This is not meant to compete with the "official" TY rides, but would be held on different dates.

This will be a family friendly ride that will cover slightly fewer miles, and be a bit slower paced (but NOT slow). It will include some stops to let the little buggers run around and have fun. The route would inlude a mix of about 40% groomed trails and 60% forest roads, and be between 100 and 120 miles (but you can bail at any point, or ride longer if ya' want).

For lunch, we like to find a nice little spot back in 'da woods, and build a bonfire and roast hot dogs.

You don't have to have kids to come along, you just have to be able to put up with other people's kids.

I would suggest staging the ride out of the Seney/Curtis area. I selfishly suggest here, because we have a cabin in Curtis and do most of our riding north of Seney. Plus, the trails in that area are wayyyy better than Munising.

If the weather is bitter cold, then lunch would likely be at one of the restaurants in Grand Marais, rather than a bonfire and cookout.

So....any interest? :letsnow:

Looks like conditions are going to be excellent here in 'da UP between Christmas and New Years.

Anyone gonna be in the Seney/Newberry area and want to get together for a ride or two?

Great Idea, Cant make those dates and unfortunately most of my winter is already planned.

Bob,

We are heading downstate for Christmas and will be back home on the 27th. I will look you up then. I took a quick spin on the Lake in front of my house on Saturday. I think the both Lakes in Curtis will be good to go by Christmas.

I rode about 100 miles Monday nite after work and it was excellent north of the Jack Pine.

Merry Christmas

Hey John...I will be at my cabin from the 24th thru the 2nd....definitely swing by or give me a call.

I am also looking to ride this Saturday...interested? Wife and kidlet have other plans.

Bob,

Saturday is going too be busy for me. I may be buying a new sled and then I have a Christmas party for work in the late afternoon.

Thanks for the invite though.
