2010 Maine TY Ride Feb 26-28

Lets hope for some snow before the ride... I was in Shin Pond and rode North this weekend and it was serious spring like conditions in the morning. By the time we got back to the cabin there were bones everywhere. Talked to a guy from Presque Isle and he said they are light on snow also and the wsrmer temps are killing them.

I had a friend that was up there this week call me and told mt that the trails up there are very thin. Can anyone in the county let me know if this is the case?????

If we don't get any snow I might pull the plug on it.

My work called me my vacation for the last half of the week has been put on hold, because there is a chance of a good size storm here on the coast Thursday and Friday.

Tuesday into Wednesday NWS says rain/snow southern to mid Maine coast and all snow north of Bangor (no amount given). Friday NWS calling for 60% chance of state wide snow but (no amount given). So who knows.
Spoke with my friend in Washburn and they rode Friday and part of Saturday on ITS 83,90,85 towards Eagle Lake, Portage etc and his exact words were "we are in trouble if we don't get snow fast".
:letsnow:

Do the snow dance for Tuesday/Wednesday and we'll be ok. If it doesn't happen I think I'm out. Lot of travel time for spring like conditions.

I just called the motel and he said that its snowing up there now the trails are in fair-good around the motel but if you head east to Caribou area they are fair-poor.

Hes going to go for a ride in the next couple of days and call me to let me know how the trails are.

ok i convence my emplyer that it was going to be rain on the coast so its still a go for now. they got a few inchs up there and looks like the next few storms will be all snow so trails should get better.

Lets see what the week brings for snow. They still have a great base they just need 6-12" and they'll be great again.
Use caution when trusting current conditions to the motel owners etc. Remeber they count on our business and may sugar coat things a bit.

I would like to thank those of you that showed up for the Maine TY ride.

rxrider
Shephen
Tomas
Bluemissle
and all of Bluemissle's friends that came up with him.

We did 150 junk trail miles (needed more snow and groomers out more)

The trails were like Muni at the end of the day but that is what we had for trails all day long.

I will post pics when I get home and rxrider said he will post more when he gets home as well.
