2010 models released Tuesday: What are they gonna have???


Let Cat, Ski-Doo, and Polaris turbo their four-strokes....I don't care. It's pretty much a cop-out if you ask me. They can't even come close to the Apex or Nytro motor without a turbo. It's almost a compliment to the Yamaha brand. I had a guy in my office talking s#!t yesterday about his 2008 Polaris Dragon Turbo...I told him I will stomp his goofy #*$&@ from one end of the lake to the other with the turbo on it and if he wants to line up without his turbo he can just keep it on the trailer cuz the thing is junk without it. Needless to say he shut up pretty quick after he heard the turbo vs. non-turbo comment. It is an ABSOLUTE credit to Yamaha that they can turn 150 HP without a turbo. Let the aftermarket guys make a living selling turbo's and let's just dominate without 'em. Can't wait for 2-10 :4STroke:

IMHO: Knowing Yamaha, they could make some obscene power using even smaller motors, by using a turbo and the weight argument would be Finito.
 
Yamaha needed a supercharger to be competitve on the PWC market, if they went boost it surely would give them an edge in the sled market.
 
2blue Polaris FST's are only 750cc twins, so they use a turbo to make up for the lower displacement and fewer cylinders. Now if they made a 1000 cc 4 cylinder 4 stroke that couldn't hang with the apex, then what you said would be correct.

4fighter is 100% correct.

That said, I really want them to bring the SRX name back, but I would be shocked if it was not a 4 stroke.
 
The Yami Phazer with a turbo will smoke any FST out there. The piont is Yamaha Doesn't need them to compete. Maybe the The FST needs a bigger turbo. But Yammi can do this to. Point Again is , WE DON'T NEED TO! It's 1:30 in the morn and I've had a couple of beers, so SORRY if I seem too agressive. We are the leaders, and that cannot be denied.

I think its more "YOU" don't need it. I sure as hell need my front mount apex to have some serious adrenaline rush!
 
Turbo

Sure, we don't need a turbo. That's not the argument. We want a turbo! Now let's all chant like John Belushi in Animal House: Turbo, Turbo, Turbo. Oops, sorry he said Toga.
 
The controversy will be one of 2 things: total bs meant to stir the pot before nothing really happens other than graphics and minor changes and the controversy would result when "we" don't understand why nothing really changed...or...they got a DI coming out. maybe the new snowcross sled will be DI and they are waiting until the feb release to bring it out, i know they have really struggled this year, but they haven't gained at all on that thing maybe all their test time is wrapped up in a DI nytro or exciter.

Polaris does not have the resources, R&D or Technology to build a competitive 4 cyl 4 stroke motor to keep up with Yamahas. Sorry to break it to ya! :drink: :yam:
