2010 Yamaha!!

All I want out of yamaha is to get a good race sled out there that can actually make it into the finals consistantly and give us something to cheer for

IMO Yammie needs to come out with a supercharged, 120 to 140 HP, lightweight twin in a more traditional chassis (i.e. Apex, Vector). Make an MTX, RTX, and touring version. They also need to get back into the entry level market with a re-worked Bravo (i.e a cool looking, inexpensive 4 stroke single with a bit of suspension, A arms, long track, lightweight, 50 to 60 Hp, reverse. These things would sell like hotcakes. I would line up to buy one of each.
It's clear that the 4 stroke revolution is on. Stay ahead of it Yammie!

The phazer is a pefect entree level sled..why would someone want anything smaller..we can barely keep up on the trails the way it is. Those couldnt even be trail legal hardly..And I had a bravo for years.

I'll just talk out my arse here for a minute, but Yamaha loves to use parts they already have, correct? So could it be possible to put the YZF 450 jugs on a Phazer to make it a 900 twin four stroker. This would give you a power to wieght ratio that not many other sleds could compare to. Awesome tourque, guessing 140 - 150 HP. Turbo's are expensive and the repair bills can be more. WE are Yamaha and we are the leaders in the four stroke. Why try to follow the competion? They need turbos, we don't. Ski-doo is trying to follow yammi's lead and the rest throw on a turbo to race to the catch up. Also the R1 motor works, where is the R6. Yamaha has more possiblities than we can imagine. I'm just as excited as everyone else is, I'm sure they won't let us down, they haven't yet.

Yamaha addressed this questions in a magazine and stated that the counterbalance needed to keep vibration down on the 900 twin took away a lot of its power.

Eight more days......................................

I heard from a non Yami guy that they ran into the test riders in WNY a couple of weeks ago. No details other than it was called the Enticer. I'd bet on the 100+ upgraded Phazer. I'm hoping it actually has a seat!

ANYONE CONSIDER THAT POWERSTEERING MIGHT BE LIKE FLY BY WIRE AND LOOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT IN THE NEW SLEDS- A LOT!

Lots of speculation here... too bad that the 900 twin required a large counterbalancer to tone down the vibes. Funny, the FS/FST engines that Polaris have in their lineup use a huge counterbalancer to smooth out the 750 twin and it appears to be a decent 80hp mill. Heavy, but it has good power.

I am not a fan of anything bigger than 3 cyls. I owned an RX-1 for 4yrs and although it was stone cold reliable, it was too heavy. Yamaha is going in the right direction with the 3cyl EFI Nytro engine and if they continue with normally-aspirated engines of less cylinders they will continue to gain ground. A bigger twin and an entry-level 4-stroke single would be ideal as lineup bolsters.

We don't need another 4-cyl anything.
