I am considering getting into a 2011 or 2012 apex next year, either the base or the se and am wanting to know if these sleds have any problem issues to look out for or to be aware of. Like exhaust donut and pipe failures, weak steering bushings, etc etc. i have an 06 apex gt now and know all the potential issues to look out for on those older ones. but havent heard much about the newer ones. any info would be great thanks.

Have only had my 2011 apex one season (120mi) :o| so far my only complaint is the fuel tank size. The range is only a hundred miles or so :die hope to get more after it is broken in. Power steering takes getting use to as it isolates you from feedback, but It is definitely improved from my 06. I loved my Attak, but the XTX is more fun. Can't wait for the snow. :jump:

only problem ive had was i went through 2 handwarmers in one season, mustve been a bad install from manufacturer and dealer. All good now

I have a 2011 xtx 1500 miles on to date, have had early apexs in the past . Only complaint I have the fuel tank to small and the seat doesn't work for me as well as the older ones, not as soft, but maybe it will get better with time . Would never go back to a NON power steering machine again unless it is a two stroke. Put on Ulmers pc5 for better air fuel ratios and better fuel mileage. Runs awesome you will love it.

pc5 gives you better fuel mileage without compromising hp? is that automatic mapping or pre programmed?

Pre programmed the 2011 run to lean in the upper rpms. Ulmer has a good map set up.

Pre programmed the 2011 run to lean in the upper rpms. Ulmer has a good map set up.
Also the mid rage is a little rich that is why the mileage gets better.

Never experienced any issue or drawback from a lean condition. Sled runs like an animal.

Has yamaha upgraded their exhaust components like weak pipes and donuts? I know the new ones have exup and a shorter exhaust system.

But when you put on the pc5 it really wakes it up, runs so much crisper throttle response.

It has better exhaust components now from what I here. There was somebody on here that has 10,000 miles on with no exhaust issues.

That may be, but I honestly can't imagine needing anything more crisp or awake than it already is.
