2011 Apex Dyno #'s ?

Yeah, top end on the dream meter is 73 but i know its not going that fast. From everything i have seen online there real speed is 68ish. I was just making a point about how great the acceleration was from 0-60.

All the top models have roughly the same top end MPH #s. Depending on conditions flip a coin. I have a bud with a Sea Doo RXT, the 215 HP version and the SHO absolutely destroys him from a standing start. Top end, I have him by about 3 real MPH. I have heard with pump mods...impeller...etc the SHO can get low to mid 70s real speed. Either way, the SHO for me is the best watercraft on the market. Best acceleration and build quality. Its amazing when you compare Yamahas watercraft line in person to brand x, then switch and ride brand x. Light years ahead.

yeah, they are way ahead in the watercraft market. alot of technology there. i'm waverunnerless right now b/c i thought i was getting a boat but that didn't work out. wish i could get a sho or even a fx ho. need a 3 seater now, 2 seater was fine for just me and my wife but we have a family now.

yeah they are sweet. i would think they could do more than 68mph. i think they govern them or something. my 04 gp1300r did 66.4 on my gps and that is only 165hp which is roughly 100hp less.

my dealer has a left over fzs on the showroom floor. its tempting but i really want a boat and since he screwed me on a boat i guess i'll wait till next year.

Dude by the time next year comes this stupid state will have closed all the boating areas too, so you should have fun while you can!

BTW dont expect to be able to ride your sled too many places next year either, because word around the locals in the adirondacks/tug hill area is that the government is stealing alot more of the money then they said they were from the trail fund, and most of the state trails through parks and similar areas are going to be remaining closed from this summers closures. Biggest one i know of here is the moose rivers plains closure.

We may as well just move to a better state, cause we arent going to be having any fun/prosperity here. Wanna split a uhaul? lol!

WTF? Did I just read that the Plains are closed or was that speculation? Looks like everyone will have to go to a permit system like Forge.

No its true the state closed moose river plains for the year, along with many many other state run areas like it. The state said they WILL NOT open it in the winter either, but since old forge takes care of it they are trying to work something out. IF the state does not open it in the winter there will be no old forge to ride and buy a pass from as more the half its trails are through the plains and allow access. Also dec is closing most of indian lake and speculators trails for good saying they want one big main trail.. well they dont want us on lakes anymore, they want us riding roads/highways with one big trail by the roads.. We are f#%ked around here if they all get thier way. So I hope you had fund riding here while you could cause theres no good news for anything up here right now.

I'll bring this back to the top just for a little discussion. It is not the peak HP gain that shines on the new Apex. It is the explosive low to midrange gain, the peak HP gain is just a bonus!

Nice try bringing this topic "2011 Apex Dyno #'s" back to the top, Allen.

So, who will be the first to offer the EXUP delete kit...?

I'm not convinced we need a delete kit. The 11's I rode were perfect, I was in awe.

I was reading recently about how yamaha stopped posting hp numbers for everything they make, even outbards, I'm not sure why? But it seems the new sleds could be the same..

We probably are going to have to wait till fall to get real dyno numbers, but when I demoed them the reps were saying its the same motor as before just cleaned up.. It was like they had no clue either.. When riding it, it felt to be a good 10hp more then my 06.

Mr sled has that 2011 apex se, maybe someone can lend him a dyno!!

I had a test ride as well and I also noticed that it felt a bit stronger than the old one.
But this does not stop me from thinking about what a possible EXUP delete kit could do. I am fully aware that the EXUP is marketed as a device that improves low and midrange torque, but this has never been the case in any of the streetbikes. I have had a number of them on the dyno and none of them produced more low and midrange torque with the EXUP (or similar devices from other manufacturers) installed...
My best guess would be that Yamaha is installing the EXUP only to be able to pass environmental noise regulations at idle rpm with a slightly smaller silencer than before. Not to improve low and midrange torque (because it does not). My second best guess would be that a more free flowing exhaust system (without EXUP) will offer a bigger power gain on this engine than it did on the old engine...

X2...If the EXUP makes any hp/tq gain on this motor it would be the first in Yamaha's history.

Apparently from what I have been told is that there are not much to be had for gains in the exhaust on this new sled. The collector is alot bigger then the older one and their is an increase in size of header pipe. Their maybe some in the muffler, but I bet it isn't much....

G-Force will fill all your needs with this new sled !!! you will see !!!
