Preferred the old days of $500 down now, balance in October.
Are there prices for Spring Check Apex?
http://yamaha-motor.ca/promos/?group=S#141
Seems pretty much the same, $500 down and purchase next fall. Dealers can also square up a deal giving their own rebate, but have to say the incentive doesn't exactly scream "buy me now". Was thinking on snowchecking an Apex XTX for next season, but ended up buying a 2010 Nytro XTX outright yesterday for about $5000 cheaper. So now I have my new sled that I will customize throughout the summer and I also have my Apex to toy with.

Reason for Yamaha High Pricing--according to local dealer, these sleds are made in Japan and due to current high US $$ that is a major contributing factor for the high prices.
My only issue is US $$ value or not, a company still must price to what is competitive on the market. IMO 2011's Apex SE $1000 high (min) after getting a few quotes.
Dealers here are also saying once they quote the SE , there are no takers to speak of.

My dealer said they will be running deals in Nov2010. He had to take 16 new Apexes to get special floorplan financing. I was quoted 13850 from him on a SE and 13329 on an XTX last week. These were prices with all accessory money in and no extended warranty. He could sell me 3 extra years for 350. This is still too expensive . If Yamaha comes to the table with maybe 1500 more I might be in. Just for the record he also offered me 5500 for my 06 Apex GT which is in primo condition and only has 4800 miles.
Yeah the price$$ kinda sucks, but whats cool is the fact that My apex still looks good, turns heads, sounds great, smoooth power, great gas mileage for 155+hp,suspention works, and gets me around the whole UP & back.for a couple $$thousand more than others 2011---ski,poo,cat---its worth it to me.when i bought my apex new i didn't care about price,i was getting a whole bunch of new technology>>engine-gauges-push-button suspention-WOW and exhaust going out the back! comparing it to my 01 SRX and prev owned sleds.the new 2011 machines are better all around im sure.what we really need is MORE SNOW around in areas, then i would consider on a new machine.just can't do it without it..

Have owned 3 Apexs, 4 1200 Doo Xr's, and was actually considering Snow Checking the 2011 Apex SE. If you compare the prices to the DOO 1200, and the new 800 Etec, Yamaha is at least $1500 high on their
retail pricing--IMO.
Hopefully they will get a wake up call , if not, my bet is you will see VERY FEW spring orders, let alone 2011 Apex sales next season.
And yes, I did do a 45 minute test ride. Bottom line, some nice improvements, but no way a game changer to justify their pricing.
Anyone else on this forum agree ?
Totally agree JDM

Hey yamaha, listen up! - I make good money and am fortunate enough that I could spring check a 2011 SE, but won't on principle alone. how about throwing in a turbo for that outragous price.

yep..my dealer telling me 13,600 for SE WNY......since i want one it looks like i might bite the bullet and get one, since the GF needs a sled and i think this will best, she can ride the power steering or my 06 then....
Id hate to buy a 11 vector for her then they come with Powersteering in 12 for vector...so probably a new SE for us.
then i can use my 06 as mule sled to test against to get the new 11 to be as fast...lol....if its not, maybe a yamcharger for the se?

Well I'll throw my 2 cents in. The issue on price for me is this. A sled is still basically just a stamped tunnel, seat and a motor with a front and rear suspension. It's not only yamaha's prices but all sled company's prices are up. I don't see the cost justification on a 2011 apex SE list price pushing close to $15,000 you might as well say. Now compare that to a brand new base model 2010 Kia sorento at $20,000 with a 10yr 100,000 mile warranty. How can a car/suv and a sled be only a little over $5,000 different in base price?I know it's a apples to oranges comparison but manufacturing is the same whether building cars or sleds. I agree with one of the previous posts that all 4 company's are seeing lower volume sales so they must increase the price to offset R&D and maufacturing costs.

snip.
I'm not buying the dealers reason for the high price on the new apex. If it was the exchange rate, the price of ALL yamaha sleds would have gone up a similar % from last years price. They didn't. Just the apex went up. Got to pay for the powersteering and exaust valve complexity. I'm going to run my apex for another year or two or 3? If the prices of new apexs stay as high as the '11, I won't be replacing my 06 apex with a new apex. I paid $8500 for my apex in 3/06. Now you can't get a new vector for that price.
