2011 Apex Pricing ???? Yamaha is out to lunch

If you guy's think that the 2011 Apex is overpriced,I would have laughed my #*$&@ off if Yamaha came out with a completly revised Apex and priced it at $18,000+ just to listen to you guy's bitch. It's funny how people think this sled is expensive, yet in a year they will spend the same amount on BOOZE,SMOKING,EATING OUT,COFFEE and other misc junk!.gimme a break :yam: If you can't afford it step aside, coming through :die

This whole topic was already entirely worn out last week.

Seriously, how many ways and how many times can people rant back and forth -- "it's too expensive...no it's not....yes it is...no it's not....yes it is...no it's not"?

Enough already. Agree to disagree and spend the time on worthwhile topics.

If this isn't a "worthwhile" topic, why did you bother to reply to it? If I am not interested in a topic I don't reply to it.

You are forgeting boating has a better ROI in time use 6-9 months depending on where you live & use boat. 90 days if lucky for a sled in USA. I just don't know anyone that is buying a 2011 Apex just shut down interest over $15K price. They don't want to test ride just swiched heads to off & looking at new doos now. I would not buy an 800 etek but buds would.

I agree you can use your boat more days, but I don't know alot of boaters that can put 1000 miles a season on, never mind the 3000-5000 we put on....not looking for a fight, just my 2 cents

Boat time can be just moored some never move surely not a how many mile endeaver.... a much different use of time than how many miles on a trail sled. Also can take family & friends on a boat so much more of a family activity. Perhaps a PWC would be a better apples to apples comparison to snowmobiles & water toys but I'm done with PWCs but just me. Price of 2011 Apex is still too high no matter what you compare it to. I don't see these selling in mass at the current price. Just too much money for most sled buyers.

Good points. Boats and sleds are two different beasts. And I agree that at that price I won't be on an 11 this year. I am happy for those that do buy them. I would love to have one. There is nothing like something brand new, that only you have played with. And the warranty is nice too.

LMAO boats are the biggest money pit going, far more expensive to maintain and operate than a snowmobile.Regardless of timeline to be used.

Someone posted this awhile back:

But personally i LOVE having the option to keep my 06 until something better comes my way.

That sums it up better than I ever could. I have an 2006 with about 8000 miles on it. I know that I could ride it and ride it and ride it some more until I am ready to buy another new Yamaha or whatever. Thanks to the engine, these sleds are ageless (other than some maintenance issues). If i owned a Ski Doo Etec or SDI or any two stroke, as soon it hit 5,000 miles, I would start to worry every time I went for a ride. Will this be the time I need to be towed home? What about my annual February trip? Will it make it? Nothing against Ski Doo - they make a great handling, riding and lightweight sled - but a two-stroke is a two-stroke...they have a short lifespan.:4STroke:

As for the original post - I have nothing new to add.

Have inboard ski boat & 2s outboard pontoon. Did zippo to 2s outboard & changed oil in inboard put in & take out & store on my land. Both boats costs are next to nothing compared to1 Attack new carbides, hyfax, clutches cleaned, grease lube, oil & filter, new belt all done by dealer. 2011 Apex prices too high.lol

You obviously do not have to contend with the horrible effects of E-10 gas and living near the coast. :o|

just to add fuel to the fire, i was at my dealer friday picking up my attak gt and asked about snowchecking a 2011 2 up and was told" due to the economy yamaha was only offering $150.00 discount for preseason orders." OUCH!!!!

Nope northern WI inland lakes & use pure gasoline not E10 whenever possible. Thinking about reducing to 1 boat which would include a month of use in FL but Yamaha 200 4s outboards seem to handle saltwater well....just need to be rinsed out with hose. Is this wrong?? New Yamaha engines made to handle E10 but I try to avoid it. Back on to this thread 2011 Apexs too expensive.

How is it any different than spending $15k+ on a bike and only running up 1500-2000 miles going tavern-ta-tavern each summer? If they kept the price at $12k the same guys who "will just hang on to my '06" still would be complaining and not buying new.

Spring Check Question - Can you actually purchase now? I thought that the new Spring Check model was 'sign up now and get Yamahabucks or extended warranty'

Preferred the old days of $500 down now, balance in October.

Are there prices for Spring Check Apex?
