2011 Apex Pricing ???? Yamaha is out to lunch

I think they are overpriced. I am loyal to yamaha but its too much money. However, the engine will run for 50,000 miles, just like a small car engine. 800 e-tec that burns just drops of oil, maybe 5,000 miles. And I dont think there is an oil pump cable to adjust to give it more oil if you wanted to. something we have done on our older triples once they got high on miles. 4 years from now there will be plenty of them with a few thousand miles and selling for about 6500 bucks. so be patient i guess. as for power steering... really dont need that, how about cut 15-20lbs from the machine and put a good set of skis on it.

I'm having a problem with the SE costing $1000 more than the standard. Using Port Yamaha as a referemce they list the Fox Floats 2 package, 2 shocks and a pump, for $694. Looking at a 2010 Apex, standard edition, they show the front shock and spring assembly with their discount, for $357 each, $704 for the pair. Since I have no comparison for th rear mega float can't do much there. Does the SE have something else I don't know about? They seem to have just made up this pricing.

I ride with 3 1200,s.
They have headers; mufflers & fuel/timing controllers with dunn clutch kits.
A good running apex destroys em on top.
Your out to lunch on that post as my nytro xtx with just filters & clutching runs head to head with em.
800 e-tech is a disposable 2 stroke. the technology is archaic.
it makes hp & is fast but pricey for what it is. Another riding bud bought one & paid $7500 plus his low mileage 08 800 doo.
I ride with a group of 10 doo,s & can make validated posts forever!
Have you even ridden the 2011 so you can make a validated educational comparison or your just going by what somebody,s brothers; uncle; roomates 1st cousin told youy?

You make zero sense---and read my posts on this thread as I did do a demo on the 2011 Apex's.

You seem to always only hear what you want to hear . As a side note, I have also ridden and owned the NYTRO-- not impressed at all. Front end has huge issues, no where close to the DOO 1200's.

Getting back to my Post--$15k for a slightly messaged old technology 2006 Apex designed chassis is ridiculus. Time will tell with Yamaha's Spring Orders . I am another one of the many that will not pay this kind of $$ for the 2011 offering.

Oh-- "the DOO 800 ETEC Time bomb"-- give me a break-- talking about uninformed. This will outsell the Apex 20 to 1 for 2011.

It took me a while to make the switch to a 4stroke coming from an SXR, SRX, and then a viper. Just couldn't do it.. but in 2006 i did with an RTX and now i don't think i could co back to 2S. That being said, if Doo is coming out with a comparable sled in 4S, yamaha better take notice. They are no longer the niche 4S maker. They need to be more competitive. $14k with tax is just WAY too much for a sled. So is $12k, but at least you are saving 2 grand. Yamaha really needs to rethink the pricing on the 2011's or not many will be sold. I talked to my dealer and he said he hasn't had many calls yet and the ones he did asked for pricing and they didn't call back.

for the 3 months (maybe) that you can use these things, the pricing is just getting too high.

As far as Doo 2 strokes? not a chance for me. I ride with a number of them. Those motor sdon't last very long. HOw can they? they don't even use oil??? I am all for the longevity of a 4stroke, but yamaha needs to remain competitive. the others are now there with thier offerings and yamaha can't demand that premium anymore.

I love Doo 2 strokes. I've made so much money re-building them I can afford a new Apex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a PITA waiting for back ordered parts.

If you look at the pricing for the new Ski-doo line up, there are less expensive ones, but they are the middle of the road sleds. Look at the upper tier sleds, and they came up a lot. I'm not defending Yammi. but most of the increase is due to Washington printing more money. I'm a 29 year veteren Air Force guy and am currently in Turkey. I can't believe what our dollar won't buy compared to what it would just 10 years ago. Current Turkish Lira is 1 to 1.5 to the dollar. Used to be 1 to 2.75. It's all about what you dollar is worth. Wait until you get a VAT tax like Canada,,,then you will know what they are bitching about. 20 Large for a sled.

The posts on here look like the crap you read on doo talk.The 11 mxzx 800etek retail is $11900 so $3000 dif is a lot. YAMAHA is getting out of a lot of peoples price range for something your lucky to ride 3 months.No one questions that the YAMAHA will last longer but for 3 grand it will turn people the other way.

My 2 cents..I rode a 1200 Doo and it rode and behaved like a dream. Maybe you remember my post on it.
Why does Doo still hold most of the market share? Must build good sleds. Probably will hold the majority for quite a while too.
I wanted this new Apex but can't go that much. Maybe if and when price drops somehow.
Think about how are Apex's will hold the value better now.
I have ridden with friends with Doo's,etc. and they don't give a crap about owning a Yami...I love mine..Mostly because of the motor I think. Been good to me. But that Doo was so nice...
All I can think about while riding these days when my arms start getting tired is EPS.. Ski lifting is another story.
