who all makes exhaust for a 2011 apex se that i bought? since its different then previous years

I heard D&D has somthing new coming for the 2011 Apex.
Not sure what it is though?

Excell Motorsports will release details on their slip-on muffler hopefully next week!

It is a new twin chamber design muffler that looks stock from the outside, but gives the sled a nice rumble! They were forced to go away from their usual single outlet design due to sound decibel laws and a lack of room for the oval muffler to exit under the tail light.

Hindle will be doing a complete header/muffler for the 2011 Apex...should be done in 2 weeks time. They will be eliminating the EXUP from what I'm told...and despite what some will say..they have been doing away with it on the bikes since it came out, and have had great success in doing so.

D&D Texas street bike exhaust company or D&D NY snowmobile performance dealer/aftermarket guys?

Time will tell if doing away with the EXUP actually helps. Alot of engineering went into this thing. We'll see once the snow flies.

IMO having more midrange torque is a lot more important on a 650lb sled in the snow than it would be with a 414lb bike on asphalt. I'll be keeping my Exup :)

D&D in Lowville NY. Spoke to Dan at the Syracuse snow show. He told me it will have a vartiable noise control, either linked to the EXUP or manually adjustable from a lever, sort of like the old choke lever. They did not have one there to look at so I don't know any more than that..

This will be an interesting debate....

There will be no debate, the power & torque curve will suffer if anyone removes the EXUP sure you might gain top end but the rest of the curve will suffer guaranteed. No aftermarket company will spend the money or resources to truly beat or match the power curve that the factory has produced period.

Yha, what he said. spent some good time on the wide open lake with an " oh so close to production xtx. They f#%@#%ing rock. Only sled i've ever driven that i would not touch (motor, exhaust). Clutch that Bit#%# and ride it. If you want bigger power get an older model and boost it. People who remove the technologly from this sled will be throwing money out the window.

Interesting I though for a minute since Hindle (streetbike Exhaust company) were jumping into this that we might have D&D (streetbike pipe maker out of Texas) as well. I had a D&D slip-on pipe on my 2002 GSXR 1000 that sounded wicked. Pipe would make people's heads whip around so fast when I went by I thought they would get whiplash!!

Hindle has a great rep in the streetbike world and have good gains with their systems. I imagine it will need a fuel controller to run right PCIII perhaps? Would be sweet if they do a bung welded on option for an o2 sensor to adapt a PC-V with autotune feature. Have not heard of anyone using this on a sled yet I imagine it would be awesome to do some on the go tuning for temp/barro changes.

I have a PCV unit here for the 2011 Apex that we will set the Auto Tune kit up on a 2011 Apex and see if there is any improvements to be made over stock. Then we will test exhausts, etc.
