I currently ride an 06 Apex and will be riding a buddies 2011 next weekend (nice buddy). Do you run premium in the new ones or just 87 like the 06? Thanks

'11 Apex recommend 91+
87 can be used, but it can & probably will knock, then the timing gets backed off and power goes down.
The 11s have knock sensors, but if the computer can't pull enough timing fast enough to get rid of the detonation, bad things will happen. Especially at 10,000 RPM
If I were you, borrowing a buddies $14K sled, the extra few dollars for premium gas is money well spent vs putting a sight window in the block.

Re: Fuel
95 is the RON method of measuring octane... for our 'Nort of da border friends. It doesn't mean 95 octane as we think of octane ratings.
RM/2 method of figuring octane is the US measurement, and that equals 91 octane.
As I said before, lower octane fuels can be ran in the '11 Apex, but not recommended for detonation reasons.

I disagree. I think they just put the sticker on it to cover there butts legally. I would guess you could run 87 all day and not have any issues. I put 91 in mine but would not hesitate to run 87 in it anytime.
Like was stated above if your buddy bought that expensive of a sled then don't cheap out on the gas in that sled.

You can disagree, but then again, your not the one who is going to pay for the repair when it burns down.
