The sticker on the tank says "premium recommended".
Specs. say KNOCK-SENSOR:
Addition of a knock sensor adjusts the ignition timing to prevent irregular combustion. If lower octane fuel is used the ignition timing will automatically compensate by retarding the ignition timing to prevent knocking, to ensure consistent and reliable engine performance.

Does this mean use premium(91 oct)always?mostly?
What do you loose by using 87 oct? (Horsepower?/or)
Is there any damage done by using reg.gas primarily?

Not trying to start a pissing war-- would like to hear knowledgeable explanations please.

If they now require 91 octane, they have changed the engines combustion characteristics for knock. I.E. increased compression, different flame paths due to piston dome design, head design or airflow paths. Running the recommended octane will make the most power. Running 87 will POSSIBLY make less power as the engine MAY knock and the knock sensor will retard the timing accordingly to prevent any engine damage.
