The flasher is not tied to the sled itself thus it can flash any sled for which a tune was purchased and uploaded to the associated GAP Flasher account. The tunes, datalogger and Antilag are of course locked for a specific sled. That stinks.
Regarding the ability to flash to other sleds, I thought these were tied to an ECU serial number? If not, can I sell this flasher to someone and buy another from a different tuner and it will just work on their sled?
In other words, you can sell your flasher. The new owner will simply purchase a Tune and options which would then be made available on the account of this second hand flasher.

IE: Can I sell my Hurricane flasher to a potential TD buyer?
thank you
Keep up the great work

The GAP Flashers are branded and sold to Tuners thus will only house their own tunes. You can, however, have tunes for different sleds within the same flasher.
Probably not!

How bout another scenario.....
I sell my sled.
Does the flash stay within ECU for new owner? (if i keep my flasher)
And then, can I take my existing flasher to my new sled, and would I still have my flashes or would I need to buy new flash bundle I assume?
thanks
Dan

You have to register another VIN with another bundle of tunes.

But, your old sled would lose some of the functions that require the flasher to be attached. Like data logger? That said, would data logger work on the new sled or would you have to repurchase it?

Correct, all functions which require a GAP Flasher will be lost.
If the new sled owner purchases a flasher, he will gain back all functions that are ECU related since the ECU is flashed with them. For example, Jukebox and Anti Lag. It will be up to the tuner to decide if the datalogger will be transferred or need purchasing.

Ok thanks ....
So if I sold me sled down the road.....ONE FLASH only will remain on ECU? Likely the default flash I chose?
Then the new owner could just ride it like that, OR he could buy another flasher and flash bundle to gain back more items.
And I can keep my flasher for my new sled....and I will likely have to buy flash bundle again I assume?
thx

I think the jukebox works without the flasher attached so the new owner would get the tunes to switch to.
Yes you would have to buy a new bundle of tunes for the new sled if you keep the flasher.
We are getting snow now so I hope to try the new stuff tomorrow. We’ll see if the jukebox works without the flasher attached. I know the logger doesn’t. You also need it for the dashboard to work on your remote device.

Jukebox
If a jukebox was flashed on the sled, it will remain in the ECU. The ECU will automatically select the lowest power tune by default (safety feature) in the absence of the flasher. The new owner can however change the tune if a GAP Flasher is purchased and connected on the sled. No need to purchase a bundle in this case since already in the ECU. The Jukebox makes more sense when used with a GAP Flasher as intended.
The ECU will select the tune saved by default (user preference) when the GAP Flasher is left connected but not paired with a mobile device.
Individual Tune
No change on the tune itself with or without the flasher connected except for options requiring the flasher (Antilag...).
New Sled
Yes, you can keep your flasher but a new flash will need to be purchased.

Great, thanks for all the clarity.
If the new buyer of a jukebox flashed ECU, withOUT a flasher.......was to BUY A MOMENTARY BUTTON(I believe you will have these coming soon for us) Would he be able to use the button to swipe thru the 3 JUkebox maps then, without a flasher?
The button is what Ive been waiting for, as Im not one to run my iPhone on trail rides, only use it for testing and radar running here ect.....The button will give the user instant changing thru the jukebox maps without the need of iPhone attached. So many of us waiting for the momentary button, any ETA on it?
thank you!
Dan
From GAPS post....."Yes, flasher needs to be connected on the sled as the button plugs on its wiring harness."
