2012 Apex XTX
Bought a 2012 Apex XTX & I have front end push in the twisty corners. Stock skis have new 8" bergstrom triple points with shims & ski savers. I want to get more pressure on the skis but front end handles bumps well so thinking of softening center shock the front shock in the rear skid. How far in inches do I need to turn the shock soft to get more ski pressure? Is this the best method to get more pressure on the front skis? The skid cam block is on medium so I could click that to hard & should give me a bit more ski pressuer too..... Right? Also do I have to unload the skid to adjust the skid center shock or can I adjust with sledweight on the skid? Any help is appreciated as my first Apex XTX skid.
Thanks,

my buds got a 2012 , same problem ...he lifted his straps up one hole.. helped a lot, also adj. the transfer rods up to the fullest

What tarnsfer rod not like mono skid? Are transfer rods the short rods in rear of skid with 4 nuts. If so which way do I turn for more ski pressure? No manual so not sure what to do?

yes rods are in the rear, and loosen top nut adjust bottem up all the way ( I think its 4 lines), but the best is to adjust the limiter straps up one or two holes

Well guys the bergstroms are brand new so I'm going to work with them for now. My bud has snow trackers on Venture & pushes so to me not the cure all you are making it out to be. Seems to me I can get more pressure on skis thru adjustments if not Yamaha missed the design boat with XTX. I'm just not sure best approach so asked TY members for tech help not what carbides to buy. Come on guys you can do better!!

I cleared snow & ice to get to rear rods & I see 1 line exposed at bottom of rods from nut flange edge must be at least 1/4 inch from nut flange edge to line. So which way should I go? Expose more lines up towards tunnel or tighten down to last line in direction of the ground away from the tunnel? What size are those nuts? I will need to purchase wrench to fit huge nuts!

I know you said you didn't want to play with the ski shocks, but do you have the A-arms setting pretty level, that helped tremendously for me, as from the dealer, came with a good amount of pre-load and would high-side and not bite too well in the corners. Once lowered down, lower center or gravity, helped w/ the steering too.

you should have those wrenches in your tool kit on the machine, and make the gap smaller, so[ more lines ]( you could use a crescent wrench if need be)

I looked @2012 XTX manual onlne & I don't have any red line or see other lines just 1 scored line line at bottom of rods. So I will tighten make gap smaller screw nut towards ground. Is there a minimum gap distance I should be aware of since no red line on rods?

If control rod adjustment does not work I'll pull down limiter strap then if that fails start turning front shocks.

you need to screw it up, not down towards the ground ,and you wont see the other lines until you do so! also pull the straps up first. then see if you even need to adjust transfer rods!
