2012 apex xtx studs hitting exup!!!

Hey guys, well i know this topic has been covered recently, however here is some evidence and looking for some solutions. I am about 300lbs dressed and like to ride pretty aggressive, I have 171 studs 1.325 in the track and about 2500kms i have also let out the limiter strap so that i can pull the front end up at will which is when most of the hitting started i believe. there are marks on the rear heat exchanger as well as the muffler and exup, nothing has gone through though. Question is should i put a bushing or hard piece of rubber in between the brackets that are flexing, and should i put a 1 foot X 2 foot pieve of aluminum sheeting riveted to the protectors to protect the exup even further as its about $1700 to replace!! Also does anyone have the gap in the brackets measured? Any help is appreciated!

yes something inbetween the bracket is a must the force of the track will just press it up and do what happened to you.

to bad you can't figure out a way to mount a couple small wheels near the rear of the exup to ride on the track clips and act as a anti balloon device

Yeeeouch! Sounds like you need to beef up your suspension...300lbs+ is a bit much.

Also, consider relocating the studs that you have in the very center of the track and move them closer to the slide rails. The center of the track doesn't provide the greatest support for the studs. Studs perform better the closer they are to the rails as that's where most of the sled's weight rests on the snow.

Had my dealer shim the tunnel protectors (as suggested by Yamaha for base and SE models) and put a piece of solid hyfax in C-clamp, no issues whatsoever and I go 300 lbs as well.

Hey Guys, after fooling around with several ideas and weighing the costs of making my own and time to get the materials etc, I decided to buy a fix that a local Yamaha dealer came up with and it fit perfectly!! here are the pictures!!

I just put a prestudded attack xt track on my XTX. Do you guys think I should beef up the tunnel protectors so that my exup doesn't end up looking like the first post? Also some guys have talked about adding hyfaxs to the tunnel protectors. How are you guys doing this? Anybody have a picture of this? Thanks
