NB-NYTRO
TY 4 Stroke Junkie
I wasn't trying to come off as a dick. I just think theres so many exciting sleds for 2012 then the Yamahas. I do miss my Nytro to some degree. I miss the rawness of the sled. I liked my 1200 doo a lot too but not as aggressive as I would like. I miss my Nytro with the exception of bending frames , blown ball joints, and cold hands. Enjoy the new sled. I'm torn between ordering the new cat Turbo or looking for a good used Turbo'd Nytro or 1200doo.

I wish you luck NB-Nytro on whaterver sled you get. I have had enough engine problems on recent 2 stroke sleds that have cost thousands and much frustration. I am at a point where reliability out weighs pretty much everything else as long as it is wrapped in a fun package.

That's why I love the Nytro...the best combination of reliability & fun you can get. Yeah they have some problems, but most of them won't leave you stranded on the trail and can be fixed/prevented with some upgrades.

Amen to that. I am just tired of carrying oil and gas on long tours. Now I only have to carry gas.

It's all in the motor man. It's not whopping speed freak power, but its one of the sweetest and biggest torque bands out there. When I climb hills, I don't need 8000 rpm to get things going. Squeeze the trigger and start the climb...want more umph...roll in more thumb.
Also, I wouldn't read too much into the bushings, ball joints, A-arms, subframe, etc issues because these were largely early model issues and most of those issues are buried. 6000 km's and my '10 is still tight. My buddy has like 14,000 on his '09 and nothing but slides.
I have driven ski-doo's most of my life and am new to Yamaha, and quite happy with my purchase. Is it free of issues? No. Are they manageable? yes. Would I like more power? Yes, a bit more, but am I lining up for an 800 clean-stroke? No. Because 165hp out of an 800 is so close to the limit of destruction, no matter the manufacturer, some are going to fall over the edge. I just don't get much comfort with maybe it will and maybe it won't expire. Give me 145 - 150 reliable hp, and I will be happy.
Do I think Yami has the sexiest lineup in 2012....no way. The nytro is like 5 model years old which is getting out there. But who cares, its still a riot to drive, and in powder, you can carve some wicked lines and it still has that reliable torquey fun to drive motor.
Enjoy the '12, I am sure you will.
I almost forgot...hey Rukkus, nice picture of the 3 federal political leaders, but what's that got to do with snowmobiles?......
