2012 phazer Rtx dumb question

I greased up the phazer today. Had one nipple that would not take grease. Figured I would take off nipple and replace. How do you get those nipples off? Don't see anywhere to grab with wrench.

They are welded on. Try pushing up and down on the sled to see if the shaft inside moves out of the way.

Yeah they looked welded, I was hoping they weren't.

Maybe use a tiny drill bit of the same size as the hole and clean it out. Yes, it's welded and yes, it's a stupid design.

In the three Phazer skids I've overhauled they all had at least one nipple that was plugged with welding flash. Usually a small bit will clear it but you would need to take the shaft out to do that.

I can usually get the grease fitting to work after sticking a piece of wire or paper clip into the fitting and moving it around. There is a tiny ball and spring in there that gets gummed up. G.B.

Most of the ones in the skid don't have the balls.

That makes sense, I had wondered why they didn't.
