2014 Viper Questions please

My son picked up a 2014 RTX SE Viper early this month with 400 miles.

My buddy is buying the same sled new tommorow, just a different color.

Question is about the hot grips-- do these really heat up well? Has Yamaha fixed the issues of the past with luke warm grips = cold hands?

Their hot as hell and with that some people have had problems with them failing. I personally haven't had a issue with mine and i usually wear light gloves cause the hand grips are pretty warm.

They are not Yamaha they are CAT and they are hot. I ride with Skinz handgaurds and only wear mechanics gloves. Bars set on high for about 10 min. then to low cause they burn your hands with non-insulated cloves. I rode all last year with the thumb heater not working and just though it sucked. Hand warmers went down at the end of the season when I took it in for warranty they said hey the wire to the thumb warmer was not connected.

I took the sled out last Sunday and it now burns my thumb on low.

Since at least 2010 the hand warmers have been warm on Yamahas, it was 06&07 they needed the Rockmiester kit
