Hi, I’ve been having some issues with my reverse engaging. The actuator is definitely turning the gear in the chaincase, but I only have forward. It won’t go into reverse. I’m thinking it’s the way I put the connecting shaft into the chaincase (sorry, I don’t know the exact term). Here’s a pic though of it’s current orientation (with sled in forward, not reverse)...does this look correct? Or any other tips on what I can do to get the reverse to engage?
Thanks.
Thanks.

If everything is assembled right in the chain case it should look like this..

When you align the actuator it should be to the right a tad, turn it counter clockwise to align the 3 bolts holes.

Thanks! I will give this a try tonight. I also had opened up the reverse actuator and couldn’t believe how much corrosion and crud was in there. Cleaned it up the best I could. When you align the actuator it should be to the right a tad, turn it counter clockwise to align the 3 bolts holes.

Got the cleaned up actuator back together and tried it out today. Worked perfectly! Knock on wood.
I was expecting that the plastic gear in the actuator was going to be worn but the teeth looked perfect. Thanks again for the help on this Fabio. Quite a simple fix, but was a mystery to me.

Hey all. Bringing this old post back to life with a new issue with my reverse.
When I press the reverse button it’ll go into reverse as it should. But when I press the reverse button again to put it into forward it does nothing.
When I pull the actuator off, the actuator motor spins with each press of the button. It will also spin when I turn the sled off (to put it back into forward). So the actuator itself seems to be working properly I think. I am also able to manually rotate the gear extension shaft (with the actuator off) and put it in and out of reverse without issue. So I’m at a loss as to why I can’t get it out of reverse when I press the button (or shut the sled off).
Some other info: the extension shaft notch is at the 6:00 position and fully in forward (i.e. I can’t rotate the shaft counter clockwise any further). When it shifts into reverse, the notch is in approx the 10 o’clock position. But again, for some reason It just doesn’t want to shift back out of reverse. Any thoughts and help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know the mileage of your sled, but I would check how much wear you have on the upper gear bushing in the chain case.
