Bought a New left over 2015 Apex XTX in March . Just got done changing oil and filter before I put it away for Summer. Holy Cow what a pain to get to the filter. I was all set up to change everything and have changed them on my 2013 Venture before figuring it was going to be the same. Boy was I surprised I almost didn't do it figuring I only put on 250 miles. I new it would bother me knowing I didn't change it. It took me a few hours but it really went easy. Thanks to the person who posted on another thread on this site how to do it. Cant wait till next year to finish breaking that thing in.

I would do it again at 500 miles just to get all the filings that will come loose still. after that its up to you Yamaha recommends oil only till you get something like 12000 miles on the sled after the 500 mile change. I do it at a min every other year. most years I have a reason to be that far in anyways so if I'm in there I do it anyways. after you get the motor clean with the first 500 mile change we don't run in dust so not much dirt to get in the oil.

You can modify your battery tray to make the filter change easier.Bought a New left over 2015 Apex XTX in March . Just got done changing oil and filter before I put it away for Summer.
